Viral Video Shows Dua Lipa Struggling To Sit In A Chair At Golden Globes

Dua Lipa shared a behind-the-scenes video of her struggling to sit down at the 2024 Golden Globes, and it has since gone viral.

Although the custom black velvet gown, which was adorned with a corset embellished with diamond and gold embroidery, turned heads, it did not allow Dua Lipa to turn her body.

The stunning custom dress was designed by Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli.

"Hollywood first and foremost," Dua Lipa told Access Hollywood on why that was the dress she wanted to wear to the big event. "This is a very Hollywood event. I'm very excited to dress up and be here."

She later said, "I'm still cosplaying mermaid Barbie."

Yes, the dress was a stunner and certainly had people talking, but it wasn't all glitz and glam for the 'Houdini' singer as she struggled to sit down at the table.

“Thank you @goldenglobes for such a beautiful night last night,” she wrote in the caption of a video showing the nominee grappling with a chair in an attempt to sit down."

"The only thing missing was a reclining chair," she joked.

In the video, fans can see the singer slowly leaning back into the chair, with her torso completely straight, in an attempt to sit down as normal -- Spoiler alert, that did not happen.

When the artist finally made it into the chair, she still did not look comfortable as she was seen slumped onto the back of the chair, with her arm "casually" placed on the banister behind her.

The video has gained the attention of millions of social media users who got a kick out of the chair moment. "and our award for most well-managed dress," one of Dua Lipa's fans commented.

And another hilariously wrote, "When you wear your standing dress to a sit-down event."

Others simply commented on how "stunning" the singer looked despite struggling to sit down.

When Dua Lipa first learned of her Golden Globes nomination, she could not believe it.

"I woke up this morning to my first Golden Globe nomination," the artist said in a statement last month prior to the big Hollywood event, "and I couldn't be more grateful! Getting the chance to write a song for a movie was so special. Figuring out how to soundtrack this critical moment in the movie on Barbie's 'best day ever' was like this big jigsaw puzzle that Mark, Andrew, Caroline and I had to fit together.

The 'Dance The Night' singer added, "The entire experience was completely different than writing one of my own songs, and it's one that I'll never forget."

She was nominated for Best Original Song for her song 'Dance The Night,' which was featured in 'Barbie', starring Margot Robbie (Barbie) and Ryan Gosling (Ken), but it was Bille Ellishwho took home the trophy with her brother, Finneas, for their emotional ballad 'What Was I Made For?'  also from the hit film, 'Barbie'.
