Prince Andrew isn't cowering amid the drama of Jeffrey Epstein's infamous list.
The Duke of York made his first public appearance since his ties to the late sex offender resurfaced. He became engulfed in the scandalous incident following sexual assault allegations by victim Virginia Giuffre whom Epstein's attorney claims should never have escaped justice.
Prince Andrew Looks Weary In First Appearance Amid Jeffrey Epstein 'List' Scandal
Since his name appeared in new court documents relating to Epstein's case, Prince Andrew refused to leave his Windsor mansion. However, he was recently spotted leaving his home in a green Range Rover.
As seen in new pictures, the 63-year-old looked weary behind the wheel, presumably troubled by the ongoing drama that has significantly impacted his future in the royal family. Andrew's life went downhill when Ms Giuffre, one of Epstein's victims, claimed he sexually assaulted her.
The case painted the Duke of York in a bad light as he settled with his alleged victim out of court in 2022. However, Epstein's attorney, Alan Dershowitz, recently revealed the royal member made a “terrible mistake” falling for Ms Giuffre's allegations.
“I think he made a terrible mistake. I suspect he was pressured by his mother to make that mistake,” Dershowitz noted in a new interview, claiming Andrew would have been victorious in court. In his words:
“If he had fought that case, I believe he would have won. I believe the case would have been dismissed on a variety of grounds, but he didn't want to sit through a deposition, or people around him didn't want to sit through a deposition, so he settled the case.”
Dershowitz continued, “Often you settle cases, not because you're guilty of what you're charged, but because you don't want to admit other things that you've done. I feel sorry for Prince Andrew for this reason, assuming everything they say about him is correct, the woman who accused him was over the age of consent.”
Jeffrey Epstein's Accuser Names Prince Andrew, Donald Trump, & More In Bombshell Sex Tape Claims
Prince Andrew's first public appearance comes after another victim Sarah Ransome claimed that she had copies of sex tapes featuring high-profile men — including the Duke of York and former President Bill Clinton — who had been associated with the financier.
The court documents released on January 8 captured shocking claims from Ransome declaring in a series of emails sent in 2016 that she possessed sex tapes that Epstein had produced featuring some of his famous acquaintances.
The footage allegedly starred ex-President Donald Trump, Clinton, Prince Andrew, and British business tycoon Richard Branson, among others. These men were accused of having “sexual relations” with Ransome’s unidentified friend.
According to the documents, Ransome’s email read, “She confided in me about her casual ‘friendship’ with Donald. Mr. Trump definitely seemed to have a thing for her, and she told me how he kept going on about how he liked her ‘pert nipples.’”
The emails contained more damaging details about these famous figures and their intimate relationship with the unidentified female. However, the newly unsealed court documents stressed that Ransome lacked credibility as a witness and that her emails were loaded with false allegations.
Before these documents were revealed, Ransome confessed to falsifying her story in a 2019 article. She said she only “invented the tapes to draw attention to Epstein’s behavior.”
Resurfaced Epstein's Drama Does Not Bode Well For Prince Andrew
With the royal's name repeatedly popping up in newly unsealed documents, Prince Andrew is reportedly facing dire consequences from his older brother, King Charles III, who is ready to ensure he never ruins the royal family's name again.
Although the Duke of York has repeatedly denied the sexual assault allegations, his fate appears to be sealed.
A source noted Andrew would continue to be excluded from public events, a punishment that began when his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, removed him as an acting senior royal. The insider explained:
“There has always been an agreement that Andrew would be permitted to attend private and family events, as is his right. But not public or official ones. That has not changed.”
Apart from losing his public privileges, news has been brewing since last year that King Charles wishes to kick Andrew out of the Royal Lodge. The monarch attempted to downgrade his brother's status from the massive ten-bedroom home in Windsor to the smaller Frogmore Cottage.
Andrew has repeatedly fought against the change, but his resurfaced scandal may have sealed his eviction notice. Sources claim King Charles will focus more on getting his sibling out of the Royal Lodge, noting that “When it comes to family, it is difficult. But this association is just never going to go away. And that means he [Andrew] has to.”
