Prince and David Bowie are the inspiration behind Pantone naming “Ultra Violet” as the 2018 Color of the Year.
Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, and Karlie Kloss are just a few of the celebrities who regularly drape themselves in the regal hue.
Pantone says the color was chosen based on originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking, and describes Ultra Violet as “that complexity, that marriage, between the passionate red violets and the strong indigo purples.”
