'Starsky & Hutch' Star David Soul Has Died At The Age Of 80

Actor David Soul has passed away at the age of 80, according to reports. Soul made a name for himself in Hollywood through his love for acting and singing. He was Best known for his role on the show, "Starsky & Hutch."
His death was confirmed by his wife, who shared a touching tribute to him, remembering his smile, energy, and zest for life.
David Soul Passed Away At The Age of 80
"Starsky & Hutch" star David Soul has died, as confirmed by his wife, Helen Snell. She noted that the actor passed away surrounded by his loved ones following a "valiant battle for life."
"David Soul - beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother - died yesterday after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family," Snell said.
She added, per BBC, "He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist and dear friend. His smile, laughter, and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched."
The actor gained fame for his portrayal of Detective Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchinson in the beloved detective series Starsky & Hutch. He starred in the 1975-1979 television series opposite Paul Michael Glaser.
Soul also appeared in "Here Come The Brides," "The Yellow Rose," and "Magnum Force."

Soul, who married five times, was arrested in the 1980s for allegedly assaulting his then-wife, Patti Carnel Sherman, who was seven months pregnant.
According to the BBC, It was his first offense, and after completing a probationary diversion program, the charges against him were withdrawn.
Later on, the actor expressed his guilt and went to multiple prisons to speak with convicts about domestic abuse.
Following the success of "Starsky & Hutch," Soul made a comeback to music, releasing four albums of soft rock ballads in the late 1970s.

Musician Nikki Lund paid tribute to the late star: "He was such a bright light and an inspiration for so many singers. And he was the meaning of masculine charm in the 1970s that still has an impact today. I am really sad he is no longer with us.'

"Star Trek" actor William Shatner remembered Soul, writing, "Condolences to the family of David Soul. One of his early roles was on an episode of Star Trek Original Series."
In a statement to the Daily Mail, supermodel Carol Alt said, "I grew up with the handsome David Soul starring in Starsky & Hutch. That show was a weekly staple thanks to David, who had real star power and a strong presence. I loved his character. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.'
