She's Faced Extensive Criticism Over Her Body

Over the years, Aguilera has faced extensive scrutiny over her fluctuating body weight from the press and fans. In 2008, when she gave birth to her son Max, the singer gained significantly during her pregnancy, which caused a lot of commentary from the press.

After her son's birth, Aguilera lost 40lbs by cutting her food diet down to 1600 calories daily and using the infamous Rainbow diet. This means the singer eats mainly plant-rich meals and incorporates brightly colored fruits and veggies into her meals.

Two years later, when Aguilera started preparing for her role in the 2010 hit film "Burlesque," she started losing weight again. A few months later, she was in emotional distress due to her divorce from music composer Jordan Bratman, which caused another weight gain episode.

Aguilera also works with a celebrity fitness coach, Tee Sorge, who helps her with cardio and weight lifting, which is how the actress has maintained her curvy body despite the weight loss and gain.

In 2008, Sorge spoke to GlamourMagazine about Aguilera's fitness routine with him. He revealed that she kept on working out "until she was eight months pregnant and then started back up a few months" after she gave birth to Max.

In 2012, Aguilera had an interview with Marie Claire about her years-long battle with her body's fluctuating weight. The "Genie in a Bottle" singer said she's learned to block out the noise from others and focuses on being happy in her body and feeling good in her skin.

She said, "I've been through my highs, I've been through my lows. I've been through the gamut of all things in this business. Being too thin. Being bigger. I've been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It's the noise I block out automatically. I love my body. My boyfriend loves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that's all that matters to me."

During the interview, Aguilera shared that she's stopped using scales and restricting her diet. She said, When I worked on Burlesque, I lost so much weight that I was too skinny. I don't weigh myself — it's all about how I feel in my clothes. What looks good on one person might not look good on another body type."
