The Western film "Rust" starring Alec Baldwin has released the first photos of the film ahead of its release.
On October 21, 2021, the film made headlines when a gun held by the "30 Rock" actor went off, striking and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Although both Alec Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were charged in January 2022, charges against Baldwin were dropped pending further investigation in April 2022. So far, only Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is facing charges. Her trial has been scheduled for February 2024.

In April 2023, production of the Western film moved from New Mexico to the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana. Production wrapped a few weeks later, although "Rust" producers have yet to announce a release date for the film.
The visual style of the photos blends the visual style of Halyna Hutchins and Bianca Cline, who received the blessing of widow Matthew Hutchins. Matthew is now an executive producer on the film as part of a wrongful death lawsuit that was settled in October 2022.
"Rust" is based on a story by Alec Baldwin and director Joel Souza. Souza, who had been standing behind Halyna Hutchins when the gun went off, was hospitalized as a result of the incident. However, he returned to finish the film.
The movie tells the story of a 13-year-old boy forced to fend for himself and his younger brother following the death of his parents in Kansas in the 1880s. After he is sentenced to hang for the accidental killing of a local rancher, his estranged grandfather Harland Rust, played by Baldwin, must get him to safety. Patrick Scott McDermott, who plays protagonist Lucas Hollister, can also be seen in the photos.
The official movie photos were first released by Deadline on January 2, 2024.
