'Black Panther' Actress Suffers Terrible Injuries After NYC Hit-and-Run Incident

"Black Panther" actress and stuntwoman Carrie Bernans was a victim of a hit-and-run in New York City that left multiple injured.
According to reports, Bernans sustained severe injuries, including several broken bones, but is currently in stable condition.

Bernans was a victim of a hit-and-run incident that took place on Monday in New York City. She is reportedly still "in so much pain" after being rushed to a hospital, according to a statement shared by the actress' mother on her social media page.
Per reports, a driver struck an outdoor eating area of the Chirp restaurant in Manhattan, seriously injuring the 29-year-old "Black Panther" actress, along with eight other individuals.
The statement by Bernans' mother read, "She's still in so much pain and can't answer calls at this time, but appreciate[s] the messages. This was a traumatic incident. Please keep Carrie in your thoughts and prayers. She's in so much pain but healing. She was involved in a traumatic incident in NYC where a man, [his] early 40s was trying to escape a hit and run and ran into multiple cars before hitting a food stand that her friend & her were walking near."
It continued, "It ended up knocking her unconscious and pended her under the stand. She was under it unaware of what was happening. She [has] a few broken bones, fractures, & chipped teeth but thanking God that she's alive."
The Perpetrator Was Caught After Trying To Escape

According to Bernans' mother's statement, the driver ended up injuring nine people, including three police officers and her daughter, while trying to escape from the cops who eventually caught and arrested him.
"Nine people were injured in his attempted escape from the hit & run, including three police officers. Police caught him shortly after and arrested him," the statement read.
The "Color Purple" actress is now "holding onto an immense sense of gratitude for life" after the chaotic New Year's Day incident.
Her mother noted, "This setback hasn't deterred her belief that something remarkable is still being crafted by God. Despite the injuries sustained in the collision caused by a hit-and-run in NYC, she's filled with hope and faith in the unfolding of a beautiful new chapter. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she [navigates] this path toward recovery and new beginnings."
She pleaded with followers to tag their teeth makeover places in Atlanta and Los Angeles, implying that she was done with surgery and would be getting her teeth done next.
The lengthy statement concluded with the actress' mom thanking first responders, police, strangers, and loved ones who stepped in to help her daughter and the other victims of the hit-and-run. She also noted that Bernans, a new mother of one, was fortunately not with her son when the incident occurred.
"P.S., her son was not there. He was safe in a warm hotel room with family. And thank you to all who reached out," the statement read.

Fans and followers of the "Black Panther" actress were quick to show support for the mother of one by wishing her a speedy recovery.
