Gypsy Rose-Blanchard Anderson has a half-sister, but many are blasting her for not being around during the now 32-year-old's prison years.

During Gypsy's time in prison, a 2017 MAX documentary was released, telling the story of Gypsy and her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Gypsy's dad and stepmother were both in the documentary, however, her half-sister was never seen, or even mentioned.

Now that Gypsy is out of prison, she is enjoying time with her family, even sharing a 'sister love' photo on her official Instagram page. However, many are questioning why her half-sister was not mentioned during the documentary or why she never made an appearance.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard-Anderson Has a Half-Sister

The 32-year-old was released from prison on Thursday, December 28 after she served 85% of her 10-year sentence for her involvement in her mother's murder. Following her release, she spent time with her family, including her dad, step-mom, husband, and half-sister, who many did not know existed.

On Gypsy Rose's social media post, which showed her posing with her half-sister, many took to the comments section to question where her half-sister has been for these past several years.

"Ok, but where was she this whole time," one user asked on the post.

"I never knew she had a sister," another stated.

As you may know, Gypsy Rose spent the last seven years behind bars as she pleaded guilty to second-degree murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, who was murdered by her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.

It is believed that Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which is a psychological disorder that investigators claim Dee Dee had.

Munchausen syndrome by proxy is when a caretaker makes the individual they are looking after sick, or convinces others that the individual is suffering from illness that they do not really have just for attention. In this case, Dee Dee made everyone believe Gypsy Rose had multiple illnesses and disorders including epilepsy, asthma. She even shaved her daughter's head and forced her to use a wheelchair, oxygen tank, and feeding tube when none of them were needed.

Dee Dee also convinced doctors to perform surgeries on Gypsy, and prescribe her medications, both of which Gypsy did not need.

During this time, Gypsy Rose received donations, including having her 'wish' granted from Make-A-Wish and visiting the Disney Parks.
