Griffin has filed for divorce from her husband, Bick, whom she married on January 1, 2020.

In her legal filing, the comedienne is requesting that the court terminate spousal support and also enforce their prenup.

Bick and Griffin have no children together, so there will be no battle over child custody. According to the court document, Griffin claims she and her husband were separated before Christmas.

The couple, who were quite private with their romance, never seemed to have any issues, which means the divorce might come as a surprise to fans of the pair.

Griffin announced she was getting married to Bick on New Year's Day, 2020, with a message on social media that read, "Happy New Year — and, surprise! We're getting married."

She later followed up with another post: "The entire ceremony was just under 14 minutes, but I have to give you guys the uncut first 75 seconds. LOVE IT! We promised you atypical. We are in love, and we cannot stop laughing. Thank you, @LilyTomlin and Jane Wagner! #HappyNewYear."

Tomlin, who officiated the ceremony, could be heard saying in the clip shared by Griffin, "What was supposed to be a shallow, 'toot it and boot it' one-night stand has grown and flourished into something far more meaningful... They stayed together. Then they couldn't stay away from one another."

Bick has yet to respond to the divorce filing.

Kathy Griffin Shocked Her Loved Ones With A Lip Tattoo

While it's unclear what could have caused Griffin and Bick to separate, the news of her divorce from Bick comes after the actress shocked her loved ones by getting a lip tattoo. The "My Life On The D-List" star revealed the bizarre move in August.

She said at the time, "OK, so first of all, I'm trying to go under the radar... Second of all, I'm going to get my eyebrows microbladed more because I didn't do enough the last time, and I'm getting my lips tattooed, but they call it blushing. We'll see."

Shortly after undergoing the procedure, Griffin revealed the "swollen" look of her lips to her now-estranged husband Bick, and her friend, Kristin Johnston, who was utterly shocked by her appearance.

During a chat with People magazine in June, Griffin spoke about her health struggle and how she felt after performing in her first solo show in six years.

"They use a hook to open your mouth," the comedienne stated before explaining that anesthesia was necessary during the surgery "because there's a freaking needle down my throat!"

"Then they put a needle on a camera, and they put it down your frickin' throat," Griffin added. "And then they inject your little teeny meanie vocal cord with this substance."

She then revealed her joy coming out from "cancellation" as she prepared for her solo show.

"I am coming out of my cancellation. And the cancer isn't killing me. I can still put together a show. I love writing," Griffin noted. "I don't know what's gonna work. I don't know what isn't. But that's a very different place than I was even six months ago."
