Bethenny Frankel Raises Airport Suspicion After Setting Off Metal Detector

Bethenny Frankel is no stranger to lighting up a room with her presence; however, she unexpectedly became the "topic of conversation" at the airport!

The "Real Housewives of New York City" star was on her way to Aspen with her daughter, Bryn Hoppy, when she set off TSA's scanners at the security checkpoint. Was it her boots, jewelry, or clothes? No! The culprit was her private part — a revelation that made her adorable companion wonder what mom's got hiding in there.

Frankel did not wait for eyewitnesses to spread the word of her hilarious TSA encounter as she broke the news on social media. She shared a carousel of images and a video depicting the event, with two slides showing her privates getting extra attention from a TSA agent.

While the individual searched the reality TV star's lower half, she looked bewildered and a tad bit uncomfortable with the invasive examination. The third slide revealed a TSA body scanner image with a red square over the lower half of her body, indicating the system flagged something suspicious.

Despite holding up the line and having those behind her witness the embarrassing moment, Frankel took the experience in jolly spirits. She recounted the event in humor, assuring fans her private parts held nothing suspicious despite the detector's warning.

"So we go through security, and I have boots on, it was TSA approved, so they're like, 'Don't worry, they'll go through unless there's metal in them.' So I go through, and I beep," she recounted, noting she took off her boots and tried again, but the detector kept buzzing off.

After checking her jewelry and removing her fur coat and hat, Frankel and the female TSA agent were left wondering what could be setting off the machine until the body scanner image appeared. In the entertainer's words:

"All of the sudden, you see the screen, and it just shows a square, a red square, over my va—a. And Bryn starts cracking up. And the woman looks at me, and she goes, 'So, yeah, I have to pat you down.'"

"I don't have anything there. I don't know what to tell you," a confused Frankel replied, while "Bryn is crying, laughing. Like the whole line is laughing." The mother flipped the camera over to her daughter, asking her to repeat her query.

As the TV personality was getting searched, Bryn asked her mother to confess if she "put anything in there." However, the matriarch confirmed she had nothing stashed in her private part, saying:

"I did not put anything in there. Yeah, no, I don't have anything metal in my wazoo. Something is buzzing in there. Maybe it's excited to go away on a vacation, I don't know."

Frankel kept the humor going in her Instagram caption, writing, "When your va—a becomes the topic of conversation at TSA… (sentences you don't hear every day). The TSA's detector has an infamous reputation among Frankel's followers, with many echoing similar experiences. One individual lamented: "I had this happen once in Orlando. The TSA agent yelled out, 'We have an anomaly in the va—al area.'"

Another recalled: "I had the same thing happen, and I was wearing shorts and flip-flops coming back from the Dominican Republic. It really makes you question the accuracy of these machines." A third Instagram user shared:

"True story — I had a store tiny magnet in a dress I didn't know was there that was near my privates, and the TSA agent announced aloud, 'Need female screening for a c----- alert.' That was fun…"

One fan wondered if Frankel was wearing "Lululemon leggings" because this brand allegedly kept metals in the c----- area of their pants. However, the entertainer refuted this claim, replying: "Nope, nothing."

More fans found Bryn's reaction hilarious, noting she was right to question if her mother truly hid something in her privates. The cheeky teen is the product of the reality TV star's former marriage to Jason Hoppy.

The ex-couple welcomed their bundle of joy on May 8, 2010, with a rep confirming the birth to PEOPLE. Bryn was named after her father's brother, Bryan, who died in a car accident 19 years before her birth.
