Jeezy and Jeannie Mai's tumultuous divorce has taken a new turn as the rapper has filed a motion to enforce their prenuptial agreement.

According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Jeezy wants the judge to incorporate all of the terms and provisions of the prenup into the final judgment of divorce.

The "Put On" rapper shockingly filed for divorce from Mai in September after two years of marriage, and both parties have been going back and forth about the terms of their split.

Jeezy Wants Prenuptial Agreement Enforced In Jeannie Mai Divorce

In the filing, Jeezy explained that he and Mai signed their prenup on March 26, 2021, a day before they walked down the aisle. According to him, the prenuptial agreement meets the requirements for enforcement under the three-prong test often called the Scherer test.

Usually, the three-prong test asks cogent questions to determine the validity of the prenup. It asks whether the "agreement was obtained through fraud, duress or mistake, or through misrepresentation or nondisclosure of material facts?" Or if the agreement is unconscionable?"

It also wonders "Have the facts and circumstances changed since the agreement was executed so as to make its enforcement unfair and unreasonable?"

In the document, Jeezy argued that the prenuptial agreement met the above-mentioned standards. "There is no question that both parties were capable of reading and understanding the terms and provisions of the Agreement," it read. "Both parties are public figures who are no strangers to a contract."

He added, "Similarly, it is indisputable that the Prenuptial Agreement was not obtained through mistake, misrepresentation or nondisclosure of material facts. Specifically, both parties were vigorously represented by independent counsel in the negotiations."

Jeezy noted that he and "The Real" co-host cohabited for about a year before getting married and "disclosed all relevant financial information to the other of their respective assets, liabilities, and overall financial net worth" during the period.

As for Mai's claim that the prenuptial agreement is unconscionable, the "I Luv It" rapper argued that "while Petitioner’s net worth may have exceeded that of Respondent at the time of the execution of the Agreement, the fact that an agreement may perpetuate an existing disparity of wealth between the parties does not render it unconscionable."

Usually, a prenuptial agreement is deemed unconscionable if it is "abhorrent to good morals and conscience . . . where one of the parties takes fraudulent advantage of another [,] an agreement that no sane person not acting under a delusion would make and that no honest person would take advantage of."

Bottom line, Jeezy argues they both knew what they were doing and understood they would be keeping their own money.

Jeannie Mai Denies Jeezy's Claims Of Gatekeeping Their Daughter

Jeezy's filing for the prenup enforcement comes after his estranged wife responded to his claims that she has been "gatekeeping" their 1-year-old daughter, Monaco, from him.

In a November filing, the rapper, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, claimed Mai was "interfering" with his ability to have a relationship with their daughter. He accused Mai of acting like a "gatekeeper" whenever he wanted to spend time with his daughter.

"[Mai] has acted as a gatekeeper when it comes to [Jeezy] exercising parenting time with [Monaco]," the document read, with Jeezy noting that her interference is "causing confusion and tension" in his relationship with his daughter.

The 46-year-old argued that he didn't believe that Mai was "acting maliciously" but wanted the court "to separate, structure and clearly define the parties’ temporary legal and physical custody rights and set a parenting time schedule consistent with the best interests of the Child."

In Mai's response to her estranged husband's claims, she stated that her interference was only to keep Monaco safe. She declared that she has been accommodating of Jeezy's request to spend time with their daughter, even going as far as to give him an extended period of time with the toddler over the Christmas holiday.

She noted that she wants Jeezy to be fully involved in their daughter's life but is worried for the little one's safety because of his access to firearms and some unsafe conditions.

"It is essential to clarify that Ms. Jenkins' insistence on reasonable safety measures being put in place, such as safely securing and locking away all firearms that have been unsecured in the past, as well as having familiarity and properly trained caregivers is absolutely not gatekeeping, but rather a responsible effort to prioritize their daughter’s well-being," the document read.

Mai's attorney added, "These requests are grounded in Ms. Jenkins’ genuine concern for the parties’ daughter’s safety and security, especially when under the care of others and traveling across the country, and are reasonable protective measures, not an attempt to restrict Mr. Jenkins’ access to their daughter."

The divorce is ongoing.
