Facing away from the camera, the “We R Who We R” singer took off her bathing suit to stand with one hand by her side and another buried in her long blonde hair. She is standing barefoot in the river as she faces away from the camera a good distance away from her photographer. “Coming back home to me,” she wrote in the caption with a red heart emoji.
“After the storm comes the rainbow,” one fan commented. “Enjoy your freedom!” another follower exclaimed. “FREEDOMMMMMMMM. so excited for whatever is next for you. we’ll be here when you’re ready to release music again but pls take some time to heal and rest and enjoy life as a free woman,” a third fan exclaimed. “So happy for you. For those who missed it, Kesha is finally free after she finally ended her contract with Kemosabe and RCA Records. Last week, as per Variety, her contract with Lukasz ‘Dr. Luke’ Gottwald's Kemosabe label, distributed through RCA Records, came to an end, and she “amicably” stopped working with Vector Management.
The move came about six months after she and Dr. Luke agreed to resolve their defamation lawsuit outside of court only a week before its scheduled trial. The settlement happened nearly a decade after she first sued the Grammy-winning producer over allegations of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse.
Kesha and Dr. Luke Settle Their Lawsuit In June 2023
In June 2023, the “Eat The Acid” singer shared a statement on social media that began, “Kesha and Dr. Luke have agreed to a resolution of the lawsuit, and have agreed to issue and post a joint statement regarding that resolution. In resolution of that lawsuit, Kesha and Dr. Luke each state the following.”
“Only God knows what happened that night,” Kesha said in her statement. “As I have always said, I cannot recount everything that happened. I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter in my life and beginning a new one. I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved.”
“While I appreciate Kesha again acknowledging that she cannot recount what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened,” Dr. Luke said in his statement. “I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone. For the sake of my family, I have vigorously fought to clear my name for nearly 10 years. It is time for me to put this difficult matter behind me and move on with my life. I wish Kesha well."
She May Not Be Able To Make Another Pop Album

In October 2023, the “Only Love Can Save Us Now” singer revealed that she might not be able to make a pop album while promoting the tour for her latest album, Gag Order.
“My search for spiritual confirmation led me away from religion and more towards arbitrary career goals that I believed would make me feel whole — albums, cars, money, fame, houses, tours, Grammy awards,” Kesha told The Tennessean ahead of her performance at the Mother Church, The Ryman, two months ago.
“They’re all incredible, but they are also a constant stream of temporary rushes of energy, like a drug,” she continued, adding, “Now, I’m at a place in my career where I feel complete, happy, and making art that has transformed my PTSD and trauma into something honest and beautiful.”
Kesha's Art Has 'No Boundaries Or Rules'

“At this point of my career, I’m physically incapable of going into the studio and lying to myself and others by making an incredibly disingenuous, happy pop album filled with fun, party anthems. Whether I liked it or not, the truth that appeared [on “Gag Order”] was not reflected in perfect love songs, either,” she said, referring to her fifth studio album released in May 2023. “The parts of myself that I had ignored for so long — ugly, post-COVID-19 pandemic anxiety-ridden emotions — were present.”
“My songs have evolved from being guerrilla-trained to make pop hits,” she continued, “to being intimate f—ing art that I pour my soul into that has no boundaries or rules.”
