While it’s known that many celebrities flock to plastic surgeons every year, it’s not just the big names that have procedures done. In fact, more and more people are having cosmetic procedures done now than in previous years.
Dr. Ryan Neinstein of Neinstein Plastic Surgery in New York City recently shared his 2023 “End of the Year” recap for the most in-demand plastic surgery procedures in offices throughout the country. While there are many popular procedures, three stood out to Neinstein this year.
Dr. Ryan Neinstein Shares "End Of The Year" Recap
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports that there has been a 19% increase in cosmetic surgery procedures since 2019, meaning more and more people are turning to plastic surgery to not only look good but to feel good as well.
“People want to look good, and feel good,” Neinstein told The Blast. “People are willing to invest even more in their own health now more than ever.”
In fact, there’s a long waiting list for a VIP “Surgery Vacation” with Neinstein. Patients are picked up from the airport in a limo and driven to the office that overlooks Central Park to have their procedure done.
After the procedure, the patient is brought to the Plaza Hotel where they recover with a 24-hour nurse and manual lymphatic drainage massages. The cost of the procedure and recovery comes at a hefty price - starting around $100,000, but that doesn't deter people who are ready for serious change.
The Top Three Plastic Surgery Procedures Of 2023!
Neinstein revealed that the top three procedures of 2023 are the Mommy Makeover, elegant breast surgeries and natural deep plane facelifts.
Mommy Makeover
Mommy Makeover surgery combines multiple procedures in one setting to address changes caused by pregnancy and childbirth, as well as a desired aesthetic outcome for the patient. It typically focuses on loose skin, stubborn fat, deflated or drooping breasts, and muscle separation.
Neinstein said that this past year, about 25% of the women who went to him for this procedure haven't even had any children but are looking for similar results.

Elegant Breast Surgery
While the elegant breast surgery may confuse some, it just means a lot more customization for the lifestyle of the patient which includes smaller implants, fat grafting, and the use of internal bras to help style the breast.
Neinstein’s office performs breast augmentation with implants and with fat. The hybrid breast augmentation surgery is for women who prefer a more natural route to enhancing breast size and the shape of the breast. A closed collection purification process where the fat is collected purified and re-injected to enhance its ability to survive is used. Fat grafting is good for about a half a cup change in size. This process can be repeated if desired, as well as combined with implants for patients who prefer a small implant but want extra custom cleavage.
Natural Deep Plane Facelift
This procedure is similar to the office’s procedures of the body, helping the patient to restore a more youthful look and feel by mobilizing and repositioning the deep tissues of the face. While it made the top three list for Neinstein, the demand for this procedure has slowed down a bit with more non-surgical options surfacing.
The Most Sought After Procedures Of 2022
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the world’s largest plastic surgery organization, representing 92% of all board-certified plastic surgeons in the U.S., recently shared the most popular procedures of 2022.
“This year’s study supports the larger trend of the public’s growing desire to look and feel better in their own skin,” ASPS President Gregory Greco, DO, FACS, said in a news release.
Nearly 1.5 million cosmetic surgical procedures were performed in 2022. Of those procedures, the top five were liposuction, breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, breast lift, and eyelid surgery. In addition, breast reduction procedures were up 54% from 2019.
As far as minimally invasive procedures go, nearly 23.7 million were performed in 2022 with the top five being neuromodulator injections, hyaluronic acid fillers, skin resurfacing, skin treatment, combination lasers, and lip augmentation with injectable materials.
