Selena Gomez 'Really Trusts' BF Benny Blanco Despite Criticism From Fans

Selena Gomez has found peace with her new beau, Benny Blanco.

Shortly after disclosing her romance with the record producer following years of casual dating and embracing singlehood, the singer's relationship is progressing positively.

Sources close to the situation recently claimed that the relationship is unveiling a side of Gomez that is different from any connections she has experienced before.

Even though Gomez has not been in a romantic relationship for several years, she reportedly has no problem letting her guard down around Blanco. 

According to a source, the former "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress has gotten to a point in their romance where she feels at ease and open enough to address it publicly and respond to fans' curiosity.

"She feels so safe and secure with him, so she felt like it was a good time to share how happy she is with her fans. Benny is a great communicator, is honest and open with Selena, and listens to her," the source claimed.

The insider added, "He's respectful, isn't a player, and not in it for the attention or fame. He doesn't care about any of that and Selena sees that and really trusts him."

The source  further conveyed to ET Online that Gomez believes she can be her "most authentic self" with the 35-year-old "without questioning his underlying motives."

"It's taken a lot for her to let someone in, but Benny has proven himself to her and she appreciates his ideals and morals. She feels like she can give him a part of her heart that she hasn't been able to, or willing to, offer in a relationship in a very long time," they added. 

The informant also claimed that Gomez believed she had found a "good guy," which was a "refreshing" experience for her, possibly referring to her relationship with her ex, Justin Bieber. 

"Their feelings for each other are very mutual and they are looking forward to growing their relationship and special bond," the source concluded.

The revelation from close sources comes after Gomez gave fans a look into her and Blanco's bond with a snap of her celebrating her best friendTaylor Swift's 34th birthday. The content she shared implied he might have attended the party, as he was seen with her in a picture where she wore the same outfit from the celebrations.

The disc jockey wa seen embracing his girlfriend as friends surrounded them at a dinner table in the photo. Even though the post showcased more fun moments between the singer and her friends in New York City, its highlight came on the final slide, treating fans to the first public picture of the besotted pair kissing.

The news of Gomez and Blanco's romance came as a shock to the world when the Rare Beauty founder confirmed it earlier this month on social media.

The 31-year-old created a sti by addressing speculation about her relationship status in the comment sections. Responding to a post that suggested she and the "Eastside" producer were a couple, she simply wrote "facts." 

The upload in question featured a snippet of Gomez confessing to having a crush in an episode of "Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays." It also included a screenshot of her commending the launch of Blanco's cookbook on her Instagram Story.

She subsequently confirmed that Blanco is the man in question underneath her fan pages, and later defended him in the comments when she faced criticism for her relationship with the record executive.

The 31-year-old had stood her ground, stating, "Then why has he been the best thing that ever happened to me. The end," in response to fans who tried to question her choice.

Reacting to another critic, Gomez commented, "I don't understand. If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don't feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I'm done. if you can't accept me at my happiest then don't be in [my] life at all."

In a third clap back, she pointed out, "lol yeah, and he's still better than anyone I've ever been with. Facts."
