No animals here! The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) fires back at Todd Chrisley's claims of being fed rodent-infested meals.
The head of the Chrisley clan and his family have been pushing for prison reforms since the patriarch and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were incarcerated on bank fraud and tax evasion charges. However, his latest mistreatment allegations did not sit well with prison reps, who vehemently defended their delicious meals.
The FBOP Dismisses Todd Chrisley's Appalling Prison Meal Claims As Lies
Todd recently caused a stir about the FPC Pensacola prison's conditions, claiming he and other inmates were being fed animal-infested meals. The "Chrisley Knows Best" star accused the facility of having rats/squirrels in their food storage facility and recalled a dead cat dropped from the ceiling onto their food.
The TV personality noted the meals are laden with black mold and are past their expiration date by at least a year. Given the alleged rodent infestation, the food inmates consume is appalling, distasteful, and unhealthy.
Contrary to Todd's horrifying claims, the FBOP adamantly insisted their prisons offer safe and humane facilities. They stressed that their kitchens work under strict regulations, prioritizing the needs of all inmates and providing them with "healthy, nutritionally sound, and appetizing meals."
As for the claims of black mold and expired food, prison reps noted these allegations are false as all meals past their expiration date are discarded. FBOP institutions, including the FPC Pensacola, are accredited by the American Correctional Association.
Their regulations cover indoor living and other essential arrangements, such as environmental conditions like temperature and air quality. However, the Chrisley clan has frequently attacked the prison facilities for falling below their required standards.
Although having their prisons bashed by the famous family would make anyone upset, prison reps clarified their support for inmates voicing out complaints in their statement to TMZ. However, their willingness to listen only extended to those who followed standard procedures.
The FBOP confessed that they did not appreciate Todd's decision to speak out without going through the formal process. The right way involved seeking a review through the prison's Administrative Remedy Program about any concerns, but the TV personality typically aired his grievances through his family and attorney.
Todd's daughter, Savannah Chrisley, recently waged war against prison officials on her father's behalf. According to the reality TV star, the patriarch was facing consequences for speaking out about his inhumane prison conditions.
The father of five's attorney, Jay Surgent, echoed similar sentiments. He stated his client's bravery in addressing the poor state of the Pensacola prison should be celebrated instead of criticized. On that note, the Bureau of Prisons defended itself, claiming it thoroughly investigates all reports of employee misconduct.
Todd Chrisley Believes God Sent Him To Prison To Help Other Inmates
Months before wailing about his animal-infested meals, Todd raved about feeling "blessed" to be in prison. In October, the entertainer's lawyer spread the good news about his client's higher purpose, noting the entertainer saw his incarceration as a calling from God.
The convicted real estate agent claimed he is behind bars to help improve prison conditions from the inside, and he plans on fulfilling this goal by using his time, energy, and resources. Additionally, Todd's attorney revealed he plans to launch programs and initiatives to help address the problem and make prison life more tolerable for other inmates.
The legal practitioner stressed that his client feels "blessed to have a platform where he can cast light on the issues he and other inmates face daily" at FPC Pensacola in Florida. Despite his alleged inhumane conditions, Todd continues to push forward in accomplishing his newfound mission.
That's not all the Chrisley patriarch is doing behind bars. During an episode of her "Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley" podcast, the media personality's daughter revealed he has taken on the role of a financial educator within the prison walls.
Savannah noted her father is teaching financial classes to reduce his sentence, demonstrating an unexpected commitment to personal growth and community service. "Trauma is one of them. I think another one was a financial class, which, how ironic?" The former beauty pageant competitor said of her father's new prison jobs.
