A student is accusing Anthony Polito, the suspect in the UNLV shooting, of making sexual comments and advances towards her while he was her professor in 2016.

67-year-old Anthony Polito, who is the main suspect in the tragic events that took place last week, was killed in a shootout with police approximately 10 minutes after the UNLV shootings occurred.

Following the news, 28-year-old Kristin Marshburn decided to speak out, recalling an interaction she had with Polito while he was her professor in 2016.

“The professor wanted us to review hotels and look up restaurants and his itinerary for his next vacation,” Marshburn told WECT, but that wasn't the only odd thing Polio had done, as Marshburn recalls one time Polito commented on her shirt.

“He said, ‘Miss Marshburn if you wear a shirt like that for the rest of the semester you’re sure to get an A.’ I remembered I just looked next to me and the faces of my classmates were almost embarrassed for me,” she explained. “It was the faces beside me that made me realize that wasn’t okay to say.”

At the time, Kristin Marshburn was attending ECU where Polito was a professor. She reported the incident to the dean of ECU’s College of Business after class.

Marshburn said the school handled the situation well, telling WECT, “It was kind of a ‘This guy’s behavior is not okay and somebody needs to come sit in his class’ and they did much more than that."

ECU eventually removed Polito from campus.

MEGAIn the days leading up to the tragic event, the 67-year-old suspect is reported to have published a 16-page document on his personal website referencing the 22 letters that he sent “to various University personnel across the country.”

"The suspect had earlier visited a Henderson post office and sent 22 letters to various university personnel across the country with no return address," Sheriff McMahill said at the time.

"We are currently working with the postal inspector and our federal partners to begin processing these letters. We do not know the contents of these letters, and we're working to contact the recipients of those letters," Sheriff McMahill added.

Polito's online profiles, including his LinkedIn and YouTube, have been deleted.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill confirmed in a media briefing that the 67-year-old suspect arrived at UNLV’s campus with 11 magazines in addition to nine loaded magazines. It is unclear at this time how many rounds were fired during the tragic event.

Polito was also in possession of a Taurus 9 mm handgun, which he purchased legally last year, police confirmed.

The investigation of the shooting that occurred at the University of Nevada Las Vegas remains ongoing.
