Kevin Costner's Ex-Wife 'Not Surprised' Actor Has 'Moved On So Quickly' With Singer Jewel

Hollywood star Kevin Costner's ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, is reportedly experiencing mixed emotions about the actor's alleged romance with singer Jewel.

Per reports, the handbag designer and mother of three feels "bittersweet" about the entire situation but has admitted that it makes sense that the duo might be dating.

Costner and Baumgartner were married for nearly two decades before splitting in May earlier this year. Regarding the actor's recent romance, reports indicate that Costner and Jewel were linked by their mutual friend Richard Branson.

Months after divorcing his wife, Christine Baumgartner, Kevin Costner is rumored to have found love in the arms of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" singer Jewel.

However, it seems that the actor's newfound romance hasn't been received well by his ex-wife, with sources claiming that she finds it 'bittersweet' to see him connected with someone so soon after their split.

"Christine said she's not surprised that Kevin has moved on so quickly, but he didn't need to make it so obvious by wrapping his arms around her," said a source close to the mother of three, per Express.

They added, "She said she's happy for him, but it still isn't a great feeling seeing your ex with someone new."

Baumgartner and Costner were married for nearly two decades and welcomed three children: Cayden Wyatt, Hayes Logan, and Grace Avery. Costner also has four children from other relationships.

As rumors continue to swirl around Costner and Jewel's alleged romance, sources have claimed that Baumgartner did not see it coming.

"She never could have imagined he and Jewel dating, but in retrospect, it makes sense," a close friend of the handbag designer told the publication.

They added, "They're both into music, into that cowboy thing. What's not to like about her. At least Jewel is a down-to-earth person and has her own thing going on."

The source also mentioned that Baumgartner initially had concerns about Costner getting involved with someone primarily interested in his wealth but now feels reassured, knowing that Jewel is not that type of person.

The insider shared. "Christine said the last thing she wanted was for some fame seeker to come along and play mom to their three children. But Jewel has a son of her own, she has her own life and isn't a gold digger. So that's a relief."

Recent reports have revealed that Costner and Jewel were linked by British business magnate Richard Branson, who is a mutual friend of the duo.

"Richard is 100 percent responsible for Kevin and Jewel hooking up. She has been a friend of Branson's for years, and he has been a close friend of Kevin's since the 1990s," a source said, per Daily Mail.

Apparently, the duo "hit it off well" after meeting on Branson's Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands. Jewel was at the location to hold her tennis fundraiser for the Inspiring Children Foundation, while Costner was one of the many guests who attended the charity event.

It was also claimed that the "hookup happened organically" and that Jewel's friends can "see a light in her that hasn't been there in quite some time."

Already, pictures of Jewel and Costner have swirled online, although the "You Were Meant For Me" crooner has yet to confirm whether they are in a relationship. The "Yellowstone" actor has also kept mute amid the ongoing speculations.

One of the photos captured Jewel holding a microphone and speaking to the guests while seemingly seated on Costner's lap. In the cute shot, Costner also had his arms wrapped around Jewel's waist in an affectionate way.

A second picture, which was part of the highlights Jewel shared on social media, featured her, Costner, and some other guests posing together for the camera. They were all dressed in different versions of white outfits.
