"When he went to federal prison, he was beaten by the guards so badly that he had to be hospitalized at one point. We sued the BOP, but Kodak said he wanted to move forward when he was released and had me drop the case. The injuries from those abuses coupled with the shooting caused him to get prescribed pain medicine," the lawyer stated.

We're told Kodak normally carries his prescription medication in a baggie, and could be misconstrued as another substance if it is unmarked. At the time of his arrest in 2022, Black was charged with trafficking in oxycodone and being in possession of a controlled substance. The rapper was eventually released on bail after being booked into the Fort Lauderdale jail in Florida.

Black and his lawyer have since filed a request to dismiss the drug possession charges from last year, claiming that the 31 tablets of oxycodone found on him were allegedly over-the-counter medication, specifically Tylenol. Cohen described Black's arrest as a "coordinated takedown," noting that the drugs that underwent testing were destroyed in the process.
