Following Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell's tragic death from cancer, Mama June Shannon is reportedly taking care of Cardwell's 11-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn, while another plan has been arranged for her younger daughter, Kylee, to live with her biological father.

Before her passing, Cardwell secretly married Eldridge Toney in March, fulfilling her wish for a ceremony while she was still healthy. Despite not being their biological father, Toney is expected to remain involved in the daughters' lives.

According to TMZ, June has taken on the role of caregiver for one of her late daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell's children.

Sources who spoke to the outlet revealed that following Cardwell's recent passing due to cancer, June is now looking after her granddaughter, 11-year-old Kaitlyn.

Per the insider, the family had a pre-established plan for Cardwell's younger daughter, 8-year-old Kylee, to reside with her biological father, Michael, in case anything happened to Cardwell.

The source also shared that Mama June and Kaitlyn share a strong bond, being her first grandchild, and the family collectively agrees that having her at her grandma's house is the most suitable arrangement.

The heartbreaking news of Cardwell's passing was first shared by Mama June on Instagram, revealing that her eldest daughter had passed away at the age of 29.

The mother of four expressed deep sorrow in the announcement, stating, "With a breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She peacefully passed away in my home last night at 11:12 PM."

Mama June acknowledged Cardwell's courageous 10-month battle, adding: "She gave one h--- of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won't and we will be updating y'all with more information as we get it today. We love y'all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family during this difficult time."

In a recent social media post, Mama June shared that the family is arranging visiting hours for the late 29-year-old at Williams White-Columns Funeral Home in Gordon, Georgia, scheduled for Wednesday. "I know I look a hot mess, but my mind is so emotionally and mentally mindf----- right now," she began the video.

She expressed the stark changes at home following Cardwell's passing, stating, "It's so quiet in here, the machines aren't running. She's not sitting in here watching cooking shows and it's just so quiet. The chair that she was in, you know, nobody is sitting in it right now because it has a blanket and a pillow that she used, and that's where she passed away at."

The "Mama June: Family in Crisis" star admitted that she didn't know "how to describe the pain" of her daughter's death but emphasized Cardwell's wish for fans to be part of the grieving process.

"Anna wouldn't have it any other way, any other way, but for me to let ya'll know," she continued. "So ya'll, the fans, can say goodbye to her, we decided as a family 'cause she wanted us to go live here on TikTok, on social media, but we're not doing that."
