Mama June's Family Dividing Daughter Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell's Ashes After Funeral

The Shannon family will reportedly divide Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell's ashes amongst themselves after an open-casket funeral.

According to reports, Cardwell's family will cremate her following her memorial service and then each will get a share of her ashes to hold on to in the form of jewelry memorabilia.

Cardwell's death was announced by her family almost a year after she was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. The mother of two also got hitched prior to her death in a secret wedding.

Cardwell's family plans to cremate her after her memorial service, which is set to be held this week. Sources revealed to TMZ that a "portion" of the late reality TV star's ashes will be split among everyone in the Shannon family. They also plan to make "jewelry" or "crystals" in which Cardwell's ashes will be encased.

According to the news outlet, Cardwell's family also intends to get tattoos of her fingerprint after the funeral house takes a record of it.

Cardwell, who passed away on Saturday, reportedly requested an open-casket ceremony and wanted her fans to be allowed to attend the occasion in order to gain some closure.

The bereaved family also intends to get a memorial bench in honor of the late 29-year-old. It will serve as a place for her loved ones to go and have a conversation with her whenever the need arises.

The 29-year-old was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January this year and reportedly underwent her first chemotherapy treatment in March. The cancer was discovered in Cardwell's kidney, liver, and lung after taking several tests following her complaints of stomach aches.

At the time, sources told TMZ that doctors were hopeful about Cardwell's health status and that they were waiting to see how she would react to the chemotherapy before moving forward with a decision. But things seemed dire when her mother took to social media to beg for prayers just two days before her death was announced.

"Y'all we're asking for prayers for our family as we are going through this process we really appreciate y'all for all the thoughts and prayers and we will update y'all whenever we can just know that all of your thoughts and your prayers are very much appreciated during this time," June captioned the post on social media along with a photo of praying hands.

Shortly after this post June revealed that her daughter had passed away "peacefully" in her Georgia home after giving "one h--- of a fight."

June made the decision to properly care for her daughter during her cancer battle by moving back to Georgia, where her family once resided.

The reality TV star announced her decision to leave Alabama permanently during a chat with the US Sun. She also noted at the time that she'll be relocating alongside her husband, Justin Stroud.

"We are leaving Alabama," June told the news outlet. "I'm in the process of leaving Alabama now, and I'm in the final steps of my legal issues, so we'll be going back to Georgia."

"We split time between Alabama and Georgia, and when we come to help Anna and visit, we stay in an Airbnb," June added.

During the interview, she discussed her decision to return to Georgia, citing her desire to provide Cardwell with the best care and support.

On her previously strained relationship with her now-late daughter, June revealed told the news outlet that they had already started working on things prior to her cancer diagnosis.

"The relationship with Anna was actually working before she found out that she had cancer. It didn't just all of a sudden miraculously start working like what Anna had cancer, you know, to make that totally clear with everybody," June said.

June and her daughter were once at loggerheads over her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, McDaniel, whom Cardwell disapproved of. But the mother-daughter duo began to move past that after June and McDaniel's breakup.

Cardwell was also present at her mother's wedding to Stroud early this year and helped walk her down the aisle alongside her other sisters, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird, and Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon.
