Jada Pinkett-Smith is opening up like never before in her new memoir, even admitting that at one point in time, she almost took her own life.

The talk show host revealed that 14 years into her marriage with Will Smith, she planned to take her own life by driving off a cliff. In her book, "Worthy," Jada explained that the suicide she was planning had to look like an accident, so her children wouldn't be traumatized.

"I don’t just want to be injured, it has to be final," she explained of the plan.

Jada went on to explain how suicide felt like the only option, as she had previously tried therapy as well as self-care activities such as backpacking and meditation.

She even tried golf, in which she got lessons from the one and only Tiger Woods."‘He’s a very good coach. A spiritual connection isn’t just about meditation and saying 'Ommmmmm', it can be about connecting with a ball," she said.

A friend then recommended ayahuasca, a plant-derived psychoactive drink believed to have therapeutic properties, to Jada, which is what saved her. She explained that when she accepted the ‘aya’ drink from a medicine woman, the first thing she had to deal with was her own suicidal voices. She then had to imagine herself walking through a jungle filled with snakes.

After the fourth day, she "never felt suicidal again."

"It allowed me to experience incredible universal love and made me the mother I wanted to be," she told Daily Mail.

Jada Pinkett-Smith Will Never Leave Will Smith

Jada also opened up about the moment she realized that she would never leave her husband, Will Smith, and it was at the infamous 2022 Oscars. “I nearly didn’t even attend the Oscars that year, but I’m glad I did,” Jada recently told Daily Mail in the same interview of promoting her new memoir. “I call it the ‘holy slap’ now because so many positive things came after it.’

Will Smith had been nominated in the Best Actor category, which he won for his role as King Richard. Jada and Will were seated in the front row when comedian and host Chris Rockmade a joke about Jada’s shaven head, which is a result of a medical condition called alopecia.

Will seemed to laugh it off at first until he saw Jada roll her eyes at the joke. Will then seemingly got protective over his wife as he stormed the stage and slapped Chris Rock across the face while screaming, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f—— mouth!”

“That moment of the s— hitting the fan is when you see where you really are,” she added. “After all those years trying to figure out if I would leave Will’s side, it took that slap for me to see I will never leave him. Who knows where our relationship would be if that hadn’t happened?”

Although the couple are now working on their relationship, Jada recently moved out of their Calabasas mansion and she bought a house nearby.

“The best thing is I don’t need to say to Will, ‘Are you OK with this couch?’ I got one that’s cream patent leather but with gold studs on it,” Jada told the outlet. “That expresses the heavy-metal side to me.”

Will Smith was also just seen with a woman who looked a lot like Jada Pinkett Smith, but it was not the talk show host, while attending a high-profile event in Miami.
