Britney Spears Says 'It's So Weird Being Single' Amid Sam Asghari Divorce

Pop star Britney Spears spent Saturday night reflecting on what it's like to be single amid her highly publicized divorce from actor Sam Asghari.

The two met on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016 and tied the knot in June 2022, only a few months after her controversial 13-year conservatorship ended in November 2021. However, on August 16, 2023, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

On Saturday night, the 42-year-old pop star took to Instagram to share a photo of a nurse slurping tea out of a ceramic teacup through a straw. Although she began her post talking about what it was like being single,  she also explained what it was like when her mother, Lynne Spears, took her to visit the nuns at St. Mary's Catholic School when she was a child.

The "Toxic" singer began her post by writing, "It's so weird being single … I've had a lot of time to really look back with all the good and bad … I've realized I don't talk to myself that nicely at all … I'm easily manipulated and I wear my heart on my sleeve … But I'm definitely changing all that … I have to make time to stop and look around to re-evaluate myself and say is this good for me ??? I like a routine and I usually do the same thing every day …. I'm honestly bored but I'm also scared of a lot of things … The way I live my life is mine ... I've had so many people interfere with that … But to know it’s ok to be selfish with my life and enjoy it is amazing !!!"

Britney then segued into talking about nuns, continuing, "I will say my routine and daily affairs seem silly sometimes … My mom always used to visit the sisters at St. Mary's Catholic School … She used to go to when I was younger and the nuns always gave me cookies … I liked going there because the sun was always out and it was beautiful there."

"It’s weird because I have a small garden with flowers on my balcony outside my room … When I take a picture of it the illusion is that it's connected to the trees outside … It’s pretty beautiful when the sun hits at the right spot … The pictures look like diamonds glistening everywhere … Every time I go out there I think of the sisters at the church I used to go to ... I'm honestly not even sure why I'm writing this nonsense !!!??" she concluded, adding, Oh this picture ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️."

Britney credited the photo to art.com but made sure that comments were disabled. Regardless, the post got over 36,000 likes in six hours, including one from “Baywatch” star Donna D’Errico.

Only two days ago, the Princess of Pop took to Instagram to share a painting she credited to Aykut Aydoğdu. This piece of artwork shows a woman’s face hidden behind three dogs, leaving only her right eye visible. "Have you ever had an experience where you were in a room with someone and they were thinking the exact same thing you were and you didn’t even have to say anything at all ???" Britney asked in the caption.  "Or even been emotional in a car by yourself but you can sense you’re not alone !!!"

"Most people say that’s your intuition !!! Your inner goddess !!! It’s pretty powerful !!! And it’s one of those topics people can’t explain so it can feel a little tricky sometimes !!! People who have strong-willed lives have a sixth sense in the manner of creating their own lives and destiny !!!" she continued. "It’s contagious to be with people who can enlighten you and bring us to higher grounds !!!"

"I believe it’s important to be around those types of people !!! There’s a sense of safety and knowing in being with such !!! I call them wise souls !!! Believe it or not I think children are more in tune with their sixth sense than we know !!! I mean who are we kidding !!! THOUGHTS ? ???" she concluded, adding, "Psss this picture has a lot of meaning to me !!!"

Even though Britney asked for “thoughts” on this photo, comments were disabled. Regardless, it did get over 50,000 likes in two days.
