Two Suge Knight Former Attorneys Accused Of Attempting to Bribe Witnesses

Two of the attorneys who have representedSuge Knight in his ongoing murder trial have been arrested for allegedly acting as "accessories after the fact."

Matthew Fletcher and Thaddeus Culpepper were taken into custody Thursday afternoon by the L.A. County Sheriffs.

The two men each represented Suge Knight during during the case where he's accused of plowing over two men in his truck in the parking lot of Tam's Burgers in Compton, one of which died.

Prosecutors now allege Fletcher and Culpepper attempted to pay off witnesses near the burger stand to claim they had seen the victim, or those around the parking lot in possession of a gun at the time of the incident.

Investigators listened in on phone calls Suge made from jail to his attorneys allegedly discussing the paying of witnesses. Cops were able to punch through the "attorney client privilege" rule because Suge apparently would call a 3rd party who would then put the attorney on the phone. A judge ruled the phone pass off allowed officials to listen in on the calls.

Prosecutors claim Culpepper agreed to pay an informant to claim he was present at the time of the crime, and then testify favorable for Suge.

The filing also accuses Fletcher of leaking a surveillance video to the media of Suge running over the men in his truck. A judge had ordered that it not be given out.

They're each being held on $1 million bail.
