Pop star Britney Spears seems to have no plans to reconnect with her father, Jamie Spears, despite his failing health.
Earlier this month, the "Toxic" singer celebrated her 42nd birthday with her mother, Lynne Spears, and her older brother, Bryan Spears.
Her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, was also reportedly invited, although she could not make it, as she was filming a show in another country at the time.
Although the Spears patriarch got his leg amputated last month due to an ongoing infection that resulted from a knee replacement surgery that he had done decades ago, the "Gimme More" singer has reportedly not spoken to her father and seemingly has no plans to.
Britney Spears Will 'Never' Forgive Jamie Spears 'Dead Or Alive'
Following a public mental health breakdown in 2007, the Princess of Pop was subjected to a court ordered conservatorship that lasted for 13 years. The controversial conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021, put her personal and financial affairs largely in the hands of her father for much of that time.
Britney Spears' memoir "The Woman In Me," which was released on October 24, 2023, gave the pop star a chance to shed new light on her conservatorship and her complicated relationship with her father, including claims that he forced her to eat nothing but chicken and canned vegetables for years.
Even though her conservatorship has come to an end, sources told the Daily Mail that she will "never" forgive her father, who she claims "hurt her" in ways that are "not imaginable."
"There is no chance, ever, that Britney will reconcile with her dad," the insider divulged. "He hurt her in ways not imaginable and, regardless of what happens to his health, she will never forgive the man, dead or alive."
"The only reason that Britney included this photo is that she loved the picture with her son. It had nothing to do with her dad, or his health issues," the insider added, referring to a deleted Instagram post that featured paparazzi shots of Britney with her two young sons. Britney had two children with her ex-husband Kevin Federline: Sean Preston, now 18, and Jayden James, now 17.
Britney Described Herself As Her Father's 'Cash Flow'
In her memoir, the "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer described her life under her father's rules during the conservatorship and referred to herself as his "cash flow" during that time of her life.
According to court documents, former special agent Sherine Ebadi accused Jamie of financial mismanagement and diversion of resources, among other allegations. Jamie allegedly paid himself over $6 million during the pop star's conservatorship.
Even though the conservatorship may have been struck down by a judge in November 2021, Britney and Jamie are still locked in a legal dispute over financial affairs. Britney's attorney, Mathew Rosengart, rejected Jamie's request to pay the legal fees Jamie incurred in connection with the controversial conservatorship.
Still speaking to the Daily Mail about Britney's complicated relationship with her father, the source divulged, "The legal case against Jamie is forging ahead as planned."
Britney Spears Is Repairing Her Relationship With Her Mother
Although it seems that Britney will never forgive her father for what he subjected her to during her lengthy conservatorship, it appears that the "Crossroads" actress is willing to forgive her mother, Lynne Spears, for what transpired during her conservatorship.
Another source told the Daily Mail that they both "finally healed their wounds" after Lynne reportedly "apologized" to Britney instead of trying to "negate" her feelings about the memoir.
"It was the book," the insider explained. "Britney was able to get her feelings out and Lynne didn't try to negate those feelings. Lynne took ownership and she apologized. This was a huge turning point."
"Britney is now reunited with those who mean the most to her in her family... They have finally healed their wounds and are looking forward to the future with positivity," they continued, adding, "This was a group effort from her inner circle including [her manager] Cade [Hudson], her brother, close friends and, of course Britney and Lynne."
"They both were ready for this and Britney wanted this. This was not a surprise on Britney in any way," they went on to say. "Everyone had a blast and there was lots of dancing and laughing. Most importantly, Britney and Lynne were able to spend some deep and meaningful time together."
