Bruce Willis Reportedly Has 'More Bad Days Than Good' Amid Dementia Battle As Family Rallies Around Him

Hollywood star Bruce Willis' family is reportedly making the most of their time with him amid his dementia battle as they "soak up every moment" with the actor. A new report claims that for the past two months, the actor has had "more bad days than good."

His daughter Scout Willis recently shared an emotional Thanksgiving video on Instagram, capturing moments with Bruce. The clip depicted the father-daughter duo holding hands and being very affectionate. Emma, Bruce's wife, also shared a family throwback photo to mark the holiday.

The Willis family first disclosed in March 2022 that Bruce was battling with aphasia, a language disorder affecting communication abilities.

Earlier this year, in February, they revealed that the "Die Hard" star's case had worsened as he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, an irreversible brain disorder impacting speech and motor skills with a life expectancy of six to eight years.

Since the diagnosis, the family has been providing unwavering support for Bruce. A source close to the family revealed to Us Weekly that "Bruce has good days and bad days, but in the last two months, there are many more bad days than good."

The insider added that the experience has deepened family bonds amid the challenges, noting, "This experience has brought the whole family even closer together. No one knows how much time Bruce has left, so they're soaking up every moment they get with him."

Another source revealed that the family has essentially created a shared living arrangement and is "all there all the time."

"Once Bruce was diagnosed, everyone came together to keep his memory of the family intact and to be there as a constant reminder [that they] love him. [Everything] revolves around him," the insider disclosed.

They also noted that "Bruce has around-the-clock care, but at least one family member is always with him."

Bruce's 35-year-old daughter, Rumer, also maintains a close relationship with her father and ensures that her 8-month-old daughter, Louetta, spends quality time with her grandfather.

The insider told the news outlet that "Rumer wants to make sure Louetta knows [Bruce]. She wants him to be actively involved in Louetta's life. It's a very special bond."

On Father's Day in June, the "House Bunny" actress wrote a heartfelt post on Instagram, stating: "Papa I'm so lucky to have you and so is Lou." The post was accompanied by a sweet photo of Bruce holding his granddaughter.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, Scout shared an emotional Instagram video capturing her and her iconic father sharing a special moment. The clip featured the father-daughter duo holding hands at a table, accompanied by a photo of Scout cradling her father's palm against her face.

Bruce's wife, Emma, also contributed to the heartfelt posts by sharing a throwback photo encompassing their extended family. In the caption, she wrote, "I'm grateful and thankful to know this kind of love."

The throwback family photo included his daughters Mabel and Evelyn, Bruce's ex-wife Demi Moore, and older daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.

Following Bruce's diagnosis, the family has been transparent about the challenges they face. Over the summer, Emma shared the realities of caregiving on social media, writing, "I know it looks like I'm out living my best life. I have to make a conscious effort every single day…. I do that for myself, I do that for our two children, and Bruce, who would not want me to live any other way."

She also acknowledged the complexities of dementia on the "Today Show" in September, highlighting its impact on both the diagnosed individual and the family. Emma noted that "dementia is hard," adding, "It's hard on the person diagnosed; it's also hard on the family."

Tallulah also provided an update on Bruce during her recent appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show," stating that, despite the challenges, the "Moonlighting" star remains the same person.

The actress said, "He is the same, which I think in this regard I've learned is the best thing you can ask for. I see love when I'm with him, and it's my dad, and he loves me, which is really special."
