Little League Near Mark Salling's Suicide Assures Parents He Didn't Die On Their Fields

The Little League baseball fields near the location where Mark Salling's body was discovered is resuming business and assuring parents the "Glee" actor didn't die on their property.

Tujunga Little League sent out a message to their players and parents, obtained by the Blast, letting them know they were aware of the death near the park. TLL said the "death of Mark Salling did not occur on our property or within the boundaries of our facility. The news media has used our park as a reference point as there are not many landmarks nearby, but the discovery was made about a ½ mile away in the wash."

Salling's body was discovered next to Big Tujunga Creek, near his home in Sunland. The 35-year-old actor was declared dead at the scene of an apparent suicide by hanging. Cops had been looking for him after Salling's family told the LAPD he was "depressed and suicidal" and filed a missing persons report early Tuesday morning.

TLL also stresses that the "safety of our players is our highest priority at all times. We take great pride in being able to provide a developmental program for the children in our community that is a safe and fun place to learn the game of baseball." They plan on getting back in the swing of things Wednesday night with T-Ball uniform sizing, registration, and manager interviews.

It's unclear why Salling chose the secluded area in the Tujunga mountains -- so close to the baseball diamond -- to end his life, but as we previously reported, he was familiar with the location.
