Taylor Swift Reveals She Dated Travis Kelce Way Before It Went Public

Pop music icon Taylor Swift revealed in a recent interview that her romance with Travis Kelce started before she attended the first Kansas City Chiefs game.

The famous connection began when Kelce mentioned Swift on his podcast, and they started hanging out shortly afterward.

Swift emphasized transparency in their relationship, expressing joy in publicly supporting each other. She also shared a newfound appreciation for football. In the interview, she pondered the paparazzi's ability to locate her and clarified her purpose is to "support Travis."

In her recent chat with Time magazine, Swift noted that her romance with Kelce began before her shocking appearance at a Chiefs game.

The singer shared that their connection started when Kelce mentioned her on his podcast, “New Heights.” In a July episode of the podcast, the NFL player expressed feeling a “little butt-hurt” for not being able to hand the “Lover” singer a friendship bracelet he made for her during a stop on the Eras Tour. He added, “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.”

Describing the incident as "metal as h—," Swift revealed they started hanging out shortly afterward. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for because we got to get to know each other,” she revealed.

Swift added: “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

In another segment of her chat with Time, Swift mused about the uncanny ability of paparazzi to locate her.

She expressed bewilderment, stating, “I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in. There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

Conscious of the attention she receives and its impact when she attends events, she emphasizes that her purpose is to “support Travis.”

“I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and possibly pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads,” she clarified.

Swift and Kelce first sparked dating rumors when she attended the Chiefs game to support her NFL beau in September.

Making her NFL debut at Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 24, the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker cheered alongside Kelce's mom as the team triumphed over the Chicago Bears 41-10.

During her conversation with the publication, Swift emphasized the transparency in their relationship, highlighting the joy of publicly supporting each other. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said.

She added: “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.” The “Blank Space” hitmaker also expressed a newfound appreciation for football, stating, "Football is awesome; it turns out I've been missing out my whole life."

According to an insider who spoke to People magazine, the romance between Swift and Kelce is perceived as genuine by his friends, who believe it's the "real deal.”

The source, allegedly close to the Kansas City Chiefs star, said, “Travis' friends think this is the real deal for him. They're still a little shocked by all of it — that he's dating the Taylor Swift, but they've seen how down to earth she is with his friends and family.”

The source described the lovebirds' relationship as “growing,” with both the NFL tight end and the music superstar finding success in their respective fields.

“They're both really hard workers, and he acknowledges her art is hers, and he has what's his. He understands the territory their relationship comes with and like he said, isn't letting any of the hoopla impact how they're growing together,” the insider added. “Their relationship is about the two of them, and he sees Taylor for who she is and vice versa."
