Creditors want what they are owed from Kim Zolciak and her husband, Kroy Biermann.
The couple's financial challenges are escalating as Kim faces a new credit card lawsuit, while a separate judge recently ordered her partner to pay a five-figure sum. This new suit comes soon after The Blast obtained legal documents showing that Kroy's lawyer filed a lawsuit against him for unpaid legal bills.
Kim Zolciak & Kroy Biermann Still Getting Drowned By Their Financial Woes
According to new court documents, Chase Bank has now sued Kim for a past-due balance of $4,624.02. The financial institution attached several account statements to showcase that the reality television star has been behind on payments since November 2022.
They allege that the balance has grown and are now seeking payment. It is worth noting that Kroy also faced a lawsuit from Chase Bank over another credit card account, where they claimed he owed approximately $13,000.
In another unrelated case, the former NFL player faced a judgment in which Discover sued him over an alleged past-due balance that had grown to $11,275.45. In new legal documents obtained by TMZ, Kroy did not formally respond to the lawsuit, leading to a default judgment.
The judge has now ruled that he must pay the total amount along with $111 in court costs. As previously mentioned, Kim and Kroy have been dealing with a series of similar lawsuits recently, including one from the latter's legal representative. In the filing, the attorney asserted that the Montana native owes $801.01 in unpaid fees and services to the firm.
As mentioned earlier, he claimed that the amount may grow due to a monthly 1.5% interest rate on all outstanding balances until the firm is fully compensated for legal services offered.
The sum is intriguing due to the financial background of the former professional athlete, especially in comparison to his earnings from football and Kim's income from reality television.
While it is still being determined whether the suit is proceeding through small claims court or if it is a regular civil case, the fact that Kroy's attorney took legal action over a relatively modest amount for either of them raises questions.
Most of these questions are about whether the lawyer, through the suit, intended to highlight the 38-year-old's financial difficulties publicly.
The 'RHOA' Star Sold Off Some Of Her Possessions To Seemingly Aid Her Situation
Amid the unfolding controversy, The Blast previously reported that Kim posted her intent to sell some of her husband's designer shoes last month. In case you missed it, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum has been selling various designer items, emphasizing that it is part of her decluttering efforts rather than a financial necessity.
Among the items listed for the Instagram sale were handbags and shoes, including a Chanel Shearling bag listed at $5,900 and a grey Louis Vuitton purse priced at $4,500. Other items offered during the sale were her Gucci mink heels, marked at $1,250, and Balmain plastic heels, available for $600.
Besides addressing debt concerns, Kim's impromptu sale indicated positive developments in her relationship with Kroy amid their divorce. In fact, some people viewed it as a potential peace offering to her estranged husband, especially considering she kept the proceeds from her previous sale.
In one Instagram Story update, the 45-year-old shared videos featuring shoes from both her and Kroy's closets that were available for sale. The first Story highlighted a pair of Dior X Hajime Sorayama's high-top B23 sneakers adorned with cherry blossoms.
She said of the footwear, "These are Kroy's Dior shoes. These are so cute; they were worn one time. Excellent condition, perfect condition, I should say. So cute!"
In further detail, she disclosed, "Men's Dior shoe size 13. $800," via text across the clip. Subsequently, she presented black and white Christian Louboutin sneakers from her partner's collection, pricing them at $600 while hyping up their excellent condition.
The Instagram Story series concluded with Kim showcasing her Gucci mink lace-up boots, featuring gold and black details, a platform heel, and mink pom poms at the end of the lace.
She underscored that, unlike the footwear from Kroy's Wardrobe, the shoes were in pristine condition.
