Sean Penn commented on Matthew Perry's tragic passing, but now his uncensored statements are stirring up controversy.

Police did an initial investigation of Perry’s house after the discovery -- and all they found were prescription anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications. No illegal narcotics were discovered at the scene.
Sean Penn's Comment On Matthew Perry's Death Creates Controversy
Sean Penn, who starred as Eric on "Friends" alongside Matthew Perry, recently commented on Perry's passing -- however, his statement is now creating some controversy.
When appearing on "Talk TV," Penn said, "It's tragic. I can't say I was very surprised. I don't know what the coroner's report says and all that, but I know he'd done a lot of organ damage over the years."
Of course, the "I can't say I was very surprised" portion of Perry's statement is causing some major controversy.

Some users are even considering Penn's comment to be insensitive and rude. "Sean Penn confessed that Matthew Perry's death was tragic, but not unexpected considering that he went through a strong drug addiction," one fan said.
"Actor Sean Penn has once again been the center of attention, this time for his statements about the death of Matthew Perry," another wrote.
Matthew Perry Found Unresponsive In Hot Tub
During the tragic incident, a person found Matthew Perry in the hot tub and attempted to pull his head above water and was able to rest him on the edge before emergency personnel arrived on the scene. Unfortunately, it was too late.
“A bystander had brought [Matthew’s] head above the water and gotten him to the edge [of the hot tub], then firefighters removed him from the water,” LAFD spokesperson Nicholas Prange stated. “A rapid medical assessment, sadly, revealed the man was deceased prior to first responder arrival.”
Perry’s death certificate was just released a few weeks ago, which listed the actor’s cause of death as "deferred," pending further investigation and toxicology reports.
Two weeks following Perry’s death, it was revealed that the “Friends” actor was reportedly fatigued in the days leading up to his death.
“[His partner] said he had been fatigued [that day] and over the past week. A little more than usual. He played for one hour then went home,” Billy Bush, a friend of the late actor, stated, per our previous report.
This indicates that perhaps there was something medical going on that was undiagnosed, leading to the fatigue and perhaps the incident that occurred in the hot tub; however, once the toxicology report is complete, it should be able to answer more questions surrounding the late actor’s unexpected death.
Matthew Perry Returns For ‘Friends’ Reunion
HBO’s reunion of the “Friends” stars was a hit with fans. The one-time episode showed the cast coming together to discuss their time on the show and reminisce about some special memories.
On the reunion, viewers heard from producers, who opened up about casting Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing.
“I thought Chandler was going to be the easiest part to cast because it’s not just a character—he’s got jokes, he’s got like actual, real jokes. So I thought, ‘Here we go. This is gonna be great.’ And we saw actor after actor, and it wasn’t funny,” David Crane, a producer of the show, said on the reunion.
Co-producer Marta Kauffman added, “We had worked with Matthew Perry on Dream On, and when Matthew reads that dialogue, it sparkles, and it comes alive. And for the first time through the casting process, we knew there was a character there, and that this was the only guy to play it.”
