Former actress Amanda Bynes has revealed that she is working on a podcast project that will zoom in on "the entertainment industry" and will be collaborating with her "best friend," Paul Sieminski, a biochemist and a scientist.
Bynes noted that the podcast will center on discussions about various aspects of the entertainment industry, including "fashion, artists, actors, actresses, music, and everything else."
Her revelation comes after a challenging year in which she was placed on two 5150 psychiatric holds and began receiving treatment for her mental health.
Amanda Bynes Announces New Podcast Project
The "Hairspray" actress shared the exciting news during a recent interview with TooFab, expressing her enthusiasm for the project and what Sieminski is set to bring to the table.
Bynes mentioned that she met her incoming collaborator during treatment, where they quickly realized they have "very similar interests" and that they plan to flag off a "beauty brand in the future."
The 37-year-old actress went on to note that the podcast, which will be hosted on Spotify, will delve into different topics related to the entertainment industry and will be called "Paul & Amanda: The Podcast."
The announcement marks a significant step for Bynes as she makes her return to the spotlight after taking a break to focus on treatment for her mental health. She was placed on a series of 5150 psychiatric holds earlier this year after being spotted walking aimlessly for days in L.A.
Amanda Bynes Gushes About Her Podcast Co-Host
She previously shared on her Instagram Reels earlier this month that the podcast will play host to friends and celebrities alike, as she went on to detail just how much value her co-host, Sieminski, will contribute to the podcast.
"It's super impressive that Paul is going to be a part of it because he's a scientist and a biochemist," Bynes shared, sporting her signature blonde locks and a diamond-crusted septum ring. "So having his beautiful mind being a part of this podcast is just going to bring it to another level, I think."
She continued, "Because he's going to ask great questions, and I think he'll kind of carry most of the weight in terms of just like, topics of conversation."
Amanda Bynes Is Fairing Better
With the revelation of her new podcast project, Bynes is seemingly in a better health condition after enduring a rough start to the year, where she was hospitalized for her mental health condition.
As reported by The Blast, the former child star made headlines in March for a puzzling and concerning incident when she was seen wandering the streets aimlessly and even hitchhiking from Hollywood to Beverly Hills.
Close friends believed that she must have been on the street for several days before she was found naked, and she was subsequently placed on a psychiatric hold at the time.
"Amanda has left the medical facility on her own recognizance," a source told the Daily Mail at the time. "She was very cooperative and participated in her recovery; the staff supported her decision to leave as she had successfully completed the treatment program."
In June, she was placed back on 5150 psychiatric hold after calling the cops herself. A mental health evaluation was carried out on the actress at the time, leading to authorities considering her "a danger to herself and others."
Her Breakup With Ex-Fiance Contributed To Her Mental Health Issue
According to the source who spoke to the Daily Mail after Bynes' first psychiatric hold, the former Nickelodeon star's split from her former fiancé Paul Michael was believed to have caused a great strain on her mental health.
The insider noted that the "She's the Man" star was advised to "continue to distance herself from her former fiancé," adding that Bynes' "family and friends believe that her split was a catalyst in her breakdown and that he is not a healthy and safe person for her to be around."
The source went on to share that the former lovers "were codependent on each other, and the latter part of their relationship was toxic due, in part, to the fact that they met in rehab. They substituted their addiction to substances for an addiction to each other."
According to the news outlet, Bynes and Michael announced their engagement in February but split only three weeks later. Her former fiance noted that a couple of weeks before she was seen roaming naked, she'd "disappeared for three days" before coming "home with another guy."
