Britney Spears' Sister Jamie Lynn Spears Quits 'I'm A Celebrity'

Actress Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of pop star Britney Spears, has quit the British reality series "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!"

The "Sweet Magnolias" actress had been opening up more and more about her childhood with the "Toxic" singer, which included a brief stay at Disney with Britney's "The Mickey Mouse Club" costars Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Ryan Gosling.

Unfortunately, the 32-year-old actress decided to back out of the show, disappointing viewers a year after she withdrew from season 1 of the Fox reality series "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test," which just aired its season 2 finale on Monday.

On Wednesday, fans of the "Zoey 101" actress were disappointed to see that she withdrew from the show on "medical grounds." When she had competed on "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test" last year, the mother-of-two withdrew shortly into the competition because she couldn't stand being so far away from her two daughters.

After Grace Dent left the show on Monday, fans thought that they had seen enough eliminations. Unfortunately, Jamie Lynn left on Wednesday under mysterious circumstances. A spokesperson for the show said the actress left “on medical grounds” but did not specify what those were. The statement went on to say, “She's been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities.”

Many fans were shocked to see that Jamie Lynn quit the show, but one source told The Mirror that it shouldn’t have come as a surprise, insisting that her exit was yet again linked to her missing her family.

“She has been struggling physically and mentally for some time,” one source told the outlet. "If you look back even last week this is not a complete surprise by any means." They pointed to how Jamie Lynn was ready to leave by the third episode of the series. At the time, Jamie Lynn lamented, “I don't wanna be here. I quit. It is not fair."

This season actually left many fans feeling sorry for the celebrities. Many users took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to voice their feelings following Jamie Lynn's exit.

"#ImACeleb producers may have to look into simplifying their overall game plans to make it more bearable for the celebrities. First, it was Grace, and now Jamie Lynn. There were also issues with Nella last night," one user commented.

Although some sources told The Mirror that Jamie Lynn left because she missed her family, other fans believed that she left due to a medical reason.

"I'm truly saddened that Jamie Lynn has left the jungle. But her health comes first. However, it truly sucks that she's [come] this far and put up with so much," another follower shared. "Jamie Lynn, we love you!"

Other fans also made it clear that they enjoyed watching Jamie Lynn compete. "It's difficult not to take to @jamielynnspears on #ImACeleb," another fan wrote. "She's had a very weird life and still seems to have emerged as a decent human being. She's also quite direct, which is refreshing."

Jamie Lynn Spears was also eliminated on the second episode of "Dancing With The Stars," which aired earlier this year.
