In her chat with Barrymore, Jada addressed Will's infamous Oscars 2022 slap on comedian Chris Rock. The "Girls Trip" star previously revealed that she thought the slap incident was actually a skit. She told Barrymore that they were all moving on from the incident.

Jada said, "I love Will as who he is. I've learned to love and embrace Chris [Rock] … as who he is, and myself as well. That's what it's about. We're all just here trying to figure it out."

The infamous slap occurred when Rock made a joke about Jada's bald head, which she maintained because of alopecia. The incident led to Will being expelled from the Academy and severe criticism on social media. He's since apologized to Rock, his fans, the Oscars audience, and the Academy.
