Jennette McCurdy is reminiscing about nearly losing her marbles after receiving a scary pregnancy call from her doctor's office!

Jennette McCurdy 'Got The Wind Knocked' Out Of Her Following False Pregnancy News
While some women were excited to learn about their pregnancies, the "Sam & Cat" star was "terrified" to have a baby she never planned for â an unforgettable moment that occurred sometime in the TV producer's adult life.
Although the "iCarly" alum did not share the event's timeline, the entertainer noted she was blindsided by the shocking news years ago while struggling with adult acne. At the time, the Los Angeles native was using the lowest dose of an acne medication called Accutane and required frequent blood tests at the dermatologist's office.
"You have to take a test to show that you know all the risks involved, and you have to sign a contract saying that under no circumstances will you get pregnant while taking Accutane," McCurdy recalled in the latest episode of her "Hard Feelings" podcast. Explaining the medication's strict rules, the 31-year-old added:
"You have to be on two forms of contraception. You have to go, and you have to get bloodwork once a month. You have to go to your dermatologist after getting your bloodwork every month just to check up."
Despite following the rules, the "What's Next for Sarah?" producer got the one call she never expected. After the blonde beauty called to cancel her dermatologist appointment, the receptionist called her back to convey the doctor's insistence on keeping the scheduled visit.
The receptionist's stressed-out tone raised the alarm bells in McCurdy's head, who wondered why she could not reschedule her appointment. Recounting the duo's conversation, the "I'm Glad My Mom Died" author said:
"I'm like, 'What the fâ?'... I go, 'Can I just come in next week?' She goes, 'No, because we got the results of your bloodwork, and there's a pregnancy.'"
"My head was spinning. I was so dizzy. I involuntarily sat on the edge of my bed. My body just fell onto the edge of my bed, and I was like, 'What?' I got a cottonmouth," she confessed, noting the revelation felt as if "I got the wind knocked out of me."
Following the call, the "Generation Love" singer hailed an Uber and rushed to the dermatologist's office with her nerves on edge. However, the entertainer's fears turned out to be unconfirmed speculation about her bloodwork results.
"She's like, 'Well, sometimes there can be false pregnancies that come up on these because of your hormone levels because of the medication,'" the "Zoey 101" actress recalled. "I'm like, 'What? Why would you not say that this was not a certain thing right off the bat?'"
After a second test, the Kids' Choice Award winner confirmed she was not pregnant, but the emotional damage had already been done. Despite dodging the motherhood bullet, the former actress could not rid herself of the painful memories. In the 31-year-old's words:
"I am not pregnant, and it is fine. But that experience was so terrifying that I was like, 'I've got to get off this s---. This is not for me.' That was years ago."
Jennette McCurdy Is Thinking About Freezing Her Eggs Despite Not Wanting Kids
Weeks before addressing her pregnancy scare, the Australian Kids' Choice Awards recipient opened up about her thoughts on motherhood. During an episode of her "Hard Feelings" podcast, McCurdy revealed she was contemplating freezing her eggs in case she changed her mind about children.
"I do not feel in any way, shape, or form like I want kids. I cannot imagine a world in which someday I want kids," the entertainer confessed before assuring fans that her disinterest in children was not set in stone.
"I am also open to my mind changing," the Nickelodeon alum added. "I have changed a lot as a person in my years so far, and I hope to continue changing." McCurdy wished to prepare for these possible changes by freezing her eggs. In the "Between" star's words:
"What I don't want to happen is for me to turn 40 and realize, 'Fâ, I want kids now,' and I don't have enough eggs to make it happen."
Additionally, the former actress described the procedure as a future bet, hoping her older self would want something her current self never imagined she wanted rather than regret not having the opportunity.
