'Dancing with the Stars' Semi-Finals Ends With A Twist

On Tuesday, the world gathered at their screens to watch the remaining couples — Ariana Madix & Pasha Pashkov; Jason Mraz & Daniella Karagach; Xochitl Gomez & Val Chmerkovskiy; Charity Lawson & Artem Chigvintsev, and Alyson Hannigan & Sasha Farber.

The big night began with Ariana and Pasha performing a Jive to "Runaway Baby" by Bruno Mars, and receiving a score of 28/30 for an almost flawless execution. For their second dance round, the pair earned a perfect score of 30/30 for a Foxtrot to "Trampoline" by SHAED & ZAYN.

Next was Jason and Karagach, who performed a Viennese Waltz to his hit song, "I Won't Give Up," earning them a score of 27 out of 30. The award-winning singer admitted to his Alfonso Riberio that he was close to calling it a night last week. "I wanted to throw in the towel. I'm so glad I didn't," he told the host.

For Jason and Karagach's second dance to "Diablo Rojo" by Rodrigo y Gabriela, they earned a perfect score for their exceptional Paso Doble routine.

Taking the stage next was Xochitl and Val, who were perhaps the most excellent couple of the night. The duo started off with a perfect score of 30 out of 30 for a Samba to "Samba" by Gloria Estefan. Xochitl was crowned the "samba diva" by judge Bruno Tonioli.

The couple replicated their excellence during the second round, scoring another 30 out of 30 for a Waltz to "La Vie en Rose" by Lady Gaga. They topped the leaderboard with a score of 60.

It was no doubt hard for Charity and Artem to match up to the previous performance, but the pair put up a fight with a dazzling Rumba to "Love The Way You Lie Part III" by Skylar Grey that got them a close score of 29 out of 30. They, however, came back stronger for the second round with a perfect score thanks to their Quickstep routing to “BO$$” by Fifth Harmony.

The final performers of the night, Alyson and Sasha, were perhaps the poorest of the night, earning a score of 25 out of 30 for their first routine of a Jive to "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins.

Unlike the other four couples who scored perfect marks for their second dance round, Alyson and Sasha ended up with a rating of 26 out of 30 for a Waltz to "Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones.

After two hours of top-notch performances from the couple, it was time for America to find out who would be going home. However, in a history-making shocking twist, co-hosts Riberio and Julianne Hough announced that no one would be going home.

This means for the first time in "DWTS" history, the finale would feature five couples dancing it out for the big win!
