Either Eric McCormack has not gotten the memo or he is still holding on to the love he once shared with his wife, Janet Holden.
The "Will & Grace" actor was spotted publicly for the first time since Holden filed for divorce after almost three decades of marriage. McCormack's outing sparked media interest as he was seen still wearing his wedding band after his now-estranged partner claimed that the date of their separation is "yet to be determined."
Eric McCormack Seemingly Yet To Take Off His Ring Amid Unfolding Divorce Proceedings
McCormack was the epitome of somberness when he stepped out with his dog for a walk down a street filled with trees. Sporting a blue zip-up hoodie over a round-neck T-shirt, khaki shorts, black sneakers, and a cap, the Hollywood star carried a blue leash around his neck.
The pair had first ducked into a shop to grab morning take-out coffee and a snack in a brown paper bag. At one point, the 60-year-old's left hand came into view while he stood next to what appeared to be a tree.
He was caught mid-way through touching his neck as he stared into the unseen distance. As already mentioned, this would be the Canadian-American hunk's first appearance since news of his wife filing for divorce surfaced.
Even though the legal papers cited "irreconcilable differences" as the basis for the union's decline, they do not specify a date of separation for the former couple. Additionally, Daily Mail reported that Holden is seeking spousal support and intends to prevent the court from awarding her former man spousal support.
The presence of a prenuptial agreement remains uncertain, but in the divorce filing, the "Portraits of a Killer" actress requests the court to "Determine rights to community and quasi-community assets and debts" and confirm their separate assets and properties.
Just before their split, the former lovebirds were seen together on July 24 at the opening night after-party for The Cottage in New York City. They were also guests at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party in March and celebrated McCormack's Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in 2018 with their son.

The Estranged Couple Kept Several Details About Their Love Life Private
McCormack and Holden's relationship, characterized by the duo's low-key nature, began when they met in 1994 on the set of "Lonesome Dove: The Series." Holden served as assistant director for the television show, which was filmed in the plains of Alberta, Canada, near Calgary.
While it did not take them long to fall for each other, they managed to keep their romance a secret from people around them. Speaking on how they navigated that period, Holden stated in one interview, "There was a little bit of mystery and danger, which was fun."
McCormack wore his heart on his sleeve as well, as he spoke of their affair in a 2007 essay for the Guardian. In his words, "At first she wasn't too keen. She knew actors are a lot of work: it would be like taking your work home with you. But I managed to convince her."
They carried on dating in secret until a year later when they decided to unveil their romance at the show's wrap party. Unfortunately, their bond faced its first challenge when McCormack moved to Los Angeles while Holden remained in Canada.
Despite the distance The "Mr. Magoo" star and the "Ally McBeal" actor's love remained intact, and in August 1997, they exchanged vows. McCormack even credited his estranged wife for sticking with him and preventing him from partying hard during his "Will & Grace" days. As he shared:
"I think I was very lucky that I didn't get well-known until my early thirties. If it had happened when I was younger, you might have seen me falling out of nightclubs. I think I conducted myself as a much better human being because I was already married when all that came along."
McCormack hasn't responded to the divorce, nor has the former couple addressed the split on social media.
