Jamie Lynn Spears Gets Cryptic About Relationship With Sister Britney Spears

It seems that Jamie Lynn Spears decided to play coy when asked about her relationship with her older sister, pop star Britney Spears.

While competing on the British reality series "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!", the "Zoey 101" star discussed her relationship with the "Toxic" singer, which has become strained due to Jamie Lynn's alleged involvement in Britney's controversial 13-year conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021.

In the latest episode of “I’m A Celebrity!”, the “Sweet Magnolias” actress responded, “I love my sister” when asked about where her relationship currently stands with the pop star, as Britney had called her sister a “total b----” in her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” which was released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

When pressed for more details, Jamie Lynn explained that she looked up to her older sister when she was younger and felt that she could do no wrong. “When it came to my sister, even if I felt anything, if anyone said anything I was ready to go,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘Don’t talk about my sister. She’s the best.'”

However, fans had mixed feelings about what Jamie Lynn had to say.

Fans had a variety of reactions to her latest comment about her relationship with her estranged older sister. “Oh, hey there Jamie! So adore that sisterly love! But umm, just saying, if you really got Britney's back, why not say a word or two about the conservatorship afterward, right? No tea, no shade, just curiosity!” one fan commented.

“It's so heartbreaking how these siblings are so divided by the decisions of their parents & how they didn't know how to navigate the destruction when they were both victims of it. My only hope is they find peace in the chaos,” another follower shared.

“She was vacationing in a home that Britney paid for while she was locked away in a facility...” a third netizen recalled, reflecting on the time Jamie Lynn took a vacation in a home that Britney bought in 2019 while the pop star was placed in a mental health facility.

“Actions speak louder than words. You tell the public Britney is the best and you love her. In private, when Britney was fighting for her life and sanity in that treatment center, desperately needing help from you, you tell her to stop fighting it, there’s nothing you can do,” another user shared.

In a June 2021 Instagram post published months before Britney’s conservatorship ended, Jamie Lynn insisted that she wanted nothing but the best for her sister. “I can assure you that I’ve supported my sister long before there was a [Free Britney] hashtag, and I’ll support her long after,” she wrote, adding, “My sister knows I love and support her. That’s the only person I owe anything to.”

In January 2022, she appeared on “Good Morning America” to promote her own memoir and double down on her claims that she only tried to support her sister. “I’ve always been my sister’s biggest supporter, so when she needed help, I set up ways to do so,” she claimed. “I went out of my way to make sure that she had the contacts she needed to possibly go ahead and end this conservatorship and just end this all for our family.”

However, it appears that Britney was not a fan of Jamie Lynn’s comments, or her memoir “Things I Should Have Said,” as she repeatedly took to Twitter to call out her sister. At one point, she asked Jamie Lynn to “please, please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books” before she called her sister “scum.”
