Bruce Willis Is Surrouded By Family In Wholesome Thanksgiving Throwback Photo

Hollywood star Bruce Willis' wife, Emma Heming Willis, is "thankful" for her family. The British model and entrepreneur took to Instagram to celebrate Thanksgiving by sharing a throwback photo of her extended family gathering.

She had previously opened up about how she now has "so much hope" compared to when her husband was initially diagnosed with dementia. At the time, she also talked about being drawn to assisting and positively impacting other families going through similar situations.

Thanksgiving celebration is here again, and Emma Hemming Willis is thankful that she has a lovely family to rely on amid her husband's battle with dementia.

The Malta-born, who shares two daughters, Mabel Ray and Evelyn Penn, with the "Die Hard" actor, took to Instagram to share a lovely throwback of her family as a symbol of her gratitude for their efforts.

The photo included Emma, Bruce, and their kids and featured their large extended family. They all appeared to be in a delighted mood while posing for the camera. Emma could also be seen cozying up to Bruce on one of the sofas where the family sat to take the shot.

Along with the photo, Emma added an emotional caption that read, "I'm grateful and thankful to know this kind of love." The mother of two also used the opportunity to wish her fans a Happy Thanksgiving.

After the photo upload, fans took to the comments section to extend their best wishes to Emma and her family.

"Happy Thanksgiving. Hope today is filled with love and gratitude. Sending you all the best," penned a fan, while another person wrote, "Happy Thanksgiving team Willis!"

A third follower noted that Bruce is "thankful" that Emma is his "amazing wife."

Some other fans also appreciated Emma's work on raising awareness about the ups and downs of caregiving ever since she became Bruce's caregiver.

One fan penned, "Wishing all of you a blessed Thanksgiving. You have such a beautiful family and your work on caregiving has really moved me. Thank you."

Another person wrote, "This is love and I hope Bruce has his clearer moments. But I see he has a good group of loving people around and you too. And I'm glad you can shed light on a form of Dementia I, and many know too little about. Have a good Thanksgiving."

Earlier in the year, it was revealed that Willis' battle with Aphasia had taken a turn for the worse, as he had also developed a rare form of dementia. 

The actor was first diagnosed with Aphasia in 2022, which forced his retirement from the movie industry at the time.

More recently, it became known that Bruce was no longer "totally verbal" and had lost his "language skills."

"He's not totally verbal; he used to be a voracious reader — he didn't want anyone to know that — and he's not reading now," said Glenn Gordon Caron, the mind behind Willis' 1980 sitcom "Moonlighting," 

"All those language skills are no longer available to him, and yet he's still Bruce," Caron noted. The film creator also mentioned that Willis was no longer that person who loved life, saying he had lost his "joie de vivre."

While Bruce's condition has taken an emotional toll on his family, Emma isn't letting it keep her down.

The mother of two recently shared that she has "so much hope" than she did after her husband was first diagnosed.

"I understand this disease more now, and I'm now connected to an incredible community of support," Emma said in an op-ed for Maria Shriver's The Sunday Paper for November's Caregiver Month.

She went on to say that caring for Bruce gave her a "new purpose" as she uses the traction to "help and empower others."

Emma also admitted that, although she is still learning about the rare disease, she is gradually finding her footing, and the ordeal has made her "stronger" than she ever thought possible.
