Grammy award-winning singer Adele confirmed that she tied the knot with Rich Paul after dating for a few years. Per reports, the singer had the sports agent sign a prenup, perhaps to avoid a repeat of her being vulnerable in the case of a divorce.
The "Hello" singer was previously married to Simon Konecki from 2016 to 2019, and both shared a son, Angelo, who was born in 2012. Reports claim that Adele had to part with a chunk of her wealth as the duo did not sign a prenup.
Adele's Friends Allegedly Convinced Her To Make Rich Paul Sign A Prenup
Having found love again in the hands of Rich Paul, Adele seems to be taking no chances if they ever split in the future. The singer and the American sports agent recently dated for over two years before "secretly" tying the knot, as Adele confirmed during Alan Carr's comedy show in Los Angeles.
However, it is understood that Adele made her new hubby sign a prenup, something she did not do with her ex Simon Konecki. Reports also have it that the singer was "convinced" by her concerned friends to protect her $220 million fortune, having lost a significant part of her net worth when she split with Konecki.
Per a source, the issue of having to sign a prenup did "cause some friction" between Adele and Paul, but it appears to have all been sorted out.
"She believes in love, and she says talking about anything to do with money is a sure-fire romance killer. She was right," the source told the National Enquirer, per Radar Online. The insider added, "A prenup's signed, and Adele and Rich put it behind them... hopefully."
Adele Recently Confirmed Her Marriage To Rich Paul
News of the prenup comes after Adele confirmed that she was now married to Paul during her appearance at Alan Carr's comedy show in Los Angeles, per Daily Mail.
Audience members shared the news with gossip blog Deuxmoi, recounting Adele's spontaneous revelation when Carr asked if anyone recently got married.
One person at the show recalled: "I was at Alan Carr's comedy show in LA tonight, and Adele was in the audience. Alan asked the crowd if anyone got married recently, and Adele shouted, "I did."
Another individual further confirmed that Adele did make the spontaneous revelation, adding that she came with a friend and could be seen having the best time.
Although it is unclear when Adele tied the knot with Paul, reports claim it happened before her September Las Vegas residency, per Elle. At the show, she was seen turning down a female fan's proposal, saying, "You can't marry me. I'm straight, my love, and my husband's here tonight."
Adele & Rich Paul's Relationship
Adele and Rich Paul first sparked dating rumors after they were seen attending the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns NBA Finals game together back in July 2021.
Then, in September of that same year, they appeared together at NBA star Anthony Davis and Marlen P's wedding in Los Angeles. After the ceremony, Adele took to Instagram to share highlights, which featured photos of her and Paul.
Two months later, Adele gushed about the sports agent while sharing details about how they met at a party several years ago.
"Rich just incredibly arrived," she said of Paul, per People. "I don't feel anxious or nervous or frazzled. It's quite the opposite. It's wild." She added at the time, "He's great. He's so f----- funny. He's so smart, you know."
Since then, the two have been spotted together at more NBA games and on each other's Instagram pages.
Rich Paul Speaks Lovingly About His Romance With Adele
While Adele has been more outspoken in the relationship, Paul has also spoken lovingly about the singer on some occasions.
Last month, he stated that being with Adele has been great while addressing marriage speculations during an interview on "CBS Morning" with host Gayle King.
"She's been great, I think she would agree that we definitely helped each other," the 41-year-old said of the "I Drink Wine" hitmaker.
He added at the time, "I'm in a good space, we're in a good space. Happy. She's superb. She's been great for me. We've been great for each other."
The sports agent also playfully evaded the question about whether Adele should be referred to as "Mrs. Paul." He said, "You can say whatever you want," before adding that the information was not for the media.
