Snoop Dogg is really "giving up the smoke," but not the one he has become synonymous with!

Just days after he broke the internet with a surprise announcement declaring that he had "decided to give up smoke" after "much consideration & conversation" with his family, the legendary rapper has confirmed that he is partnering with a smokeless fire pit brand. As expected, the social media post attracted as much attention, with many people taking to the comment section to brag about calling it.

Following Snoop's unexpected announcement on Thursday, several onlookers, including celebs like Connor McGregor, Queen Latifah, Charmaine Bey, Maya Rudolph, and JhenΓ© Aiko, expressed their support for him in the comments. At the same time, some social media users questioned whether the Billboard Music Awards nominee was being serious.

The controversy, which continued well into the weekend, has now been settled once and for all after the rapper shared a new video promoting his latest partnership. The clip opened with a zoom-in on the 52-year-old's face as he held both hands in front of his mouth and said, "I have an announcement, I'm giving up smoke."

As the camera zoomed out to highlight his green and white Death Row Records varsity jacket, he continued, "I know what you thinking β€” 'Snoop is kinda your whole thing.' But I'm done with it. Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling stinky-icky. I'm going smokeless."

At this point, the camera revealed the burning flames in front of Snoop, who explained that the silver container containing the fire is a Solo Stove, which "takes out the smoke."

A third Instagram user dubbed the ad, "Top 10 biggest plot twists in history," a fourth agreed, "This is a better twist than any movie has ever written," and a fifth disclosed, "Not me in therapy thinking I needed to stop. Had me all on edge. Trying to see how I would feel. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ glad it's just an #ad."

Besides giving both fans and superstars something to bond over and laugh at Snoop's initial announcement also served as inspiration for many. In fact, The Blast shared that rapper Meek Mill had taken the update as a sign to quit smoking, and he took to social media to express:

Instead of getting the nod of approval and support that the "Drop It Like Its Hot" hitmaker received, Meek's declaration did the opposite. Taking to the comments, one critic wondered, "So a grown man need another grown man to stop smoking so he can….ok got it lol," and another typed:

"Or you can just make a personal decision on your own. Why do you need celebrities you don't know to influence your decisions?"

"If you need a challenge to stop smoking, then you ain't ready yet πŸ˜‚ what happens when the challenge cools off πŸ€¦πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ! You either stop on your own or stop when your health can't take it anymore πŸ’―," a third naysayer shared.

Explaining that "real smokers" understand the importance of taking "tolerance breaks to reset the mind and body," this social media personality wrote:
