Tori Spelling wants to keep her children from the drama with Dean McDermott!

The "Beverly Hills, 90210" star's ex-husband recently dropped the bomb about their split in a tell-all interview that sent the actress' mother bells ringing. Although the TV personality has no grudges against her former beau, the mother of five did not enjoy having details of her divorce accessible to her kids.

Tori Spelling Is 'Upset' About Dean McDermott's Tell-All Interview

Shortly after the "Chopped Canada" host shocked fans with his confessions about what led to the end of his 18-year marriage, a source shared Spelling's feelings about the situation. In his bombshell interview, the father of seven acknowledged his responsibility as the cause of the dispute.

According to the Canadian sensation, his struggles with substance abuse played a big part in the dissolution of the former couple's marriage. McDermott recalled he had been drunk when he got into a heated fight with the "Save the Bell" actress and angrily shared his since-deleted announcement of their separation.

The "Due South" actor kept a remorseful theme throughout the interview, never once failing to acknowledge his faults and giving Spelling credit where it was due. Nonetheless, addressing the mother of five in a positive light did not change her feelings about having her private matters publicly accessible. The insider confirmed:

"Tori is a little hurt and upset by Dean's recent tell-all type of interview…She recognizes that Dean spoke about her in a relatively positive light, but she feels protective over her children."

"Especially Stella, who is old enough to know what's going on and reads and hears about these types of things," the source told ET, noting that Spelling was trying to remain unbothered by McDermott's confessions. In the informant's words:

"Tori is trying to stay positive and keep things afloat for her family and not let Dean's words impact her too much."

The former couple share five children: 16-year-old Liam, 15-year-old Stella, 12-year-old Hattie, 11-year-old Finn, and 6-year-old Beau. Meanwhile, McDermott has an older son, Jack, from his previous marriage to the actress Mary Jo Eustace and has been referred to as the father of her adopted daughter, Lola Eustace.

These children nearly lost the patriarch on the night of his drunken fight with Spelling after the entertainer allegedly took too many sleeping pills, hoping never to wake up again. "I was at the end of my rope. I didn't know what to do. I had burned everything down yet again," McDermott confessed.

"After I sent the post, I took some more pills, and I took six or seven Ambien in the hopes that I would not wake up," he shared with the Daily Mail. "Thank God I did. Thank God I did. Because I would've ruined so many lives if I had died," the father of seven lamented.

The painful experience became the biggest motivator to get clean for the Canadian sensation, who attained sobriety after completing a 40-day rehab stay. His love life has also improved since splitting from Spelling as the "Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever" star is dating Lily Calo.

Despite having a new woman in his heart, the 56-year-old confessed to being hurt by his ex-wife's blossoming romance with Ryan Cramer. Addressing the viral pictures of Spelling's PDA moment with her new man, McDermott said:

"I did see the photographs of Tori kissing another man, and it hurt; I'm not going to lie, but she saw the same thing with Lily. She's given it to me for 18 years, and I've been so hard and brutal on her that I just want her to be loved and happy. She deserves it."

Tori Spelling Dances Away Her Blues Following Dean McDermott's Confessions

Barely 24 hours after her former beau's tell-all interview, Spelling seemingly addressed the situation with fun-filled posts on her Instagram page. The TV personality updated fans about her well-being, sharing a brief video of herself dancing on a basketball court.

While some of her kids showed off their skills in the ball game, the mother of five danced away her blues by swaying her body to the background music in rhythmic movements. The 50-year-old hinted at her mood amid McDermott's confessions, captioning her post "#stilldancing" thus proving her unbothered stance.

Next, the "A Friend to Die For" actress shared more detailed footage of her and her kids having fun. The video compilation captured several cute family moments with Spelling hitting a trampoline, more scenes from the basketball game, and the mother of five flaunting her bike riding skills.

The reel ended with the blonde beauty trying to scare her daughter Stella, who was engrossed in her phone. "FUN from this past weekend… We came, we jumped, we dunked. Got served churros instead of waffle fries. #KeepDancing #savoryandsweet," the proud mother captioned the post.
