UPDATE: Friday, November 17, 2023 -- NYPD is saying they "erroneously" told reporters about the criminal investigation. Now, they are saying he is not under investigation. Here is their statement on the situation. "Yesterday, a member of the NYPD’s public information office erroneously told a reporter about the apparent existence of an active case file containing the name 'Sean Combs.' There is no such investigation, at present. Further, the release of such information is not consistent with the internal policies of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information. The NYPD always treats allegations of sexual assault and rape extremely seriously, and urges anyone who has been a victim to file a police report so that support and services can be offered to survivors and a comprehensive investigation can be conducted."

Sean Diddy Combs is reportedly under criminal investigation by the NYPD, following a lawsuit against him for sexual assault, and physical abuse filed by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie.

As The Blast reported, the RnB singer brought a bombshell lawsuit against the music mogul where she made damning allegations against him including rape, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and other brutal things.

Diddy Subject Of NYPD Criminal Investigation

New York Police Department apparently has a file with the name "Sean Combs" as part of an investigation geared towards the Hip-Hop icon. Specific details of the police case are not being released publically, because access to the file is reportedly restricted — meaning it is a sensitive case.

The NYPD released a statement about the case, saying, "The NYPD takes sexual assault and rape cases extremely seriously, and urges anyone who has been a victim to file a police report so we can perform a comprehensive investigation, and offer support and services to survivors."

At this point, it's unclear if Cassie is the one who filed the complaint, given the scathing allegations she made against the "Coming Home" rapper in her federal lawsuit. However, the police department’s statement hints that they want other victims, if there are, to come forward.

We specifically reached out to Cassie's lawyers and asked about filing a police report against Diddy. They responded, "We cannot comment on this." Again, the response appears to confirm that something was probably filed with NYPD, because the legal team could have simply said, No.

As mentioned earlier, the "Long Way 2 Go" singer accused Diddy of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and repeated physical abuse in a federal lawsuit.

Cassie Accused Diddy Of Rape & Physical Abuse

She claimed Diddy controlled and abused her for over ten years, going as far as drugging her, beating her, and forcing her to have sex with numerous male sex workers, all on video.

"After years in silence and darkness," Cassie said in the lawsuit, "I am finally ready to tell my story and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships."

The duo first encountered each other in 2005 and went their separate ways in 2018 per the documents. In the lawsuit, Cassie alleged that Diddy broke into her home just before the end of their relationship and forced her to have sex.

She recalled speaking "to another music manager at a party in Los Angeles when he [Diddy] became enraged. She had hoped speaking to this manager would allow her to further grow her career, and that Mr. Combs would be happy for her, but instead he became extremely angry and pulled her out of the club where the party was taking place. In the car leaving the club, Mr. Combs beat Ms. Ventura, pushing her into a corner of the vehicle and stomping on her face.”

Adding, "When the car arrived at Mr. Combs’ residence, Ms. Ventura attempted to run away, but Mr. Combs followed her and proceeded to again kick her in the face. Ms. Ventura was bleeding profusely and was ushered into Mr. Combs’ home, where she began to throw up from the violent assault."

In another allegation, the 37-year-old claimed they brought in "sex workers" into the relationship and they ingested a large amount of drugs during the encounters.

"Mr. Combs always supplied Ms. Ventura (and the sex worker) with copious amounts of drugs before and during the (the encounters.) Ms. Ventura was given ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine, marijuana, and alcohol in excessive amounts…which allowed her to disassociate during these horrific encounters," the document reads.

Cassie also claimed Diddy made her carry his gun in her purse and implied that he was responsible for blowing up the car of Cassie’s suitor, whom he saw as a rival. Around the same time, the lawsuit alleges Kid Cudi's car indeed blew up in his driveway.

Diddy has since denied all allegations via his lawyer Ben Brafman who said, "Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.

The attorney continued, "Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday."
