Looks like NFL fans will not be seeing Deshaun Watson doing his thing on the field for the rest of the season!

The Cleveland Browns' Quarterback who previously suffered a head injury will go in for a surgical procedure to fix his throwing shoulder to prevent more serious structural damage. The wrecking injury he suffered while playing came just after his return from an 11-game suspension following sexual harassment allegations.

Deshaun Watson's NFL Season Ends Early

In an official statement, The Cleveland Browns revealed that the Quarterback is taking a bow out of the season following an MRI scan. The message partly read:

"Deshaun Watson underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) Monday on two injuries sustained on different plays in the first half of Sunday's 33-31 win over the Baltimore Ravens."

The team continued that imaging on his left ankle revealed a high-ankle sprain, and Watson informed the "medical staff of a new discomfort in his right shoulder that he felt after a hit in the first half. An MRI of his right shoulder revealed a displaced fracture to the glenoid."

However, the injury did not deter the QB from finishing the game with great energy, but after due consultation with Brown’s official physician, James Voos, and shoulder specialist Neal ElAttrache, the tone changed.

“It has been determined that this injury will require immediate surgical repair to avoid further structural damage. Deshaun will be placed on season-ending injured reserve, and a full recovery is expected,” the statement concluded on Cleveland Browns.com.

It has been a daunting season for Watson as The Blast shared that he previously suffered a head injury following a shove by a defender in a game between the Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts.

The impact of the fall kept him down on the NFL field for several minutes as medics quickly rushed to him. Watson’s head was reportedly bobbling after the hit, which meant he may have blacked out. He was later helped to the sideline by Browns staff members.

The Blast shared that the former Houston Texans star was suspended for 11 games last NFL season following over 20 sexual misconduct lawsuits. He was slammed with a $5 million fine with an order to undergo a compulsory treatment program before he was allowed to play again.

The decision did not sit well with some NFL fans and attorney Tony Buzbee, who represented over 20 of the women who laid the allegations against the 27-year-old.

Watson has definitely had his fair share of sexual harassment allegations. Just last year, the 27-year-old was cleared of almost 24 charges of sexual harassment and misconduct. He was accused of acting inappropriately with his massage therapists, who as shared by The Blast dropped nine criminal complaints.

The complaints included indecent exposure and intentionally using his penis to touch his therapists' hands which were all denied by the athlete on Twitter. Watson stated that he had never disrespected any woman and condemned the plaintiff’s attorney for demanding a ridiculous "six-figure settlement demand."

"Unlike him, this isn’t about money for me — it’s about clearing my name, and I look forward to doing that," added Watson in the tweet. Following the very public and heavy allegations, Nike terminated their endorsement of the athlete further adding to his woes.

However, on March 11, 2022, a Houston grand jury voted against indicting the NFL star on all the charges. The decision was revealed by the Harris County District Attorney’s office, after which Rust Hardin, lead attorney to Watson, shared that his team would proceed with the depositions of the civil case.

Hardin promised to defend all cases against Watson as he believed he was innocent and the plaintiffs’ attorney was monetizing the entire situation by feeding the press distorted stories.

Sources disclosed that the athlete pleaded the Fifth Amendment and delivered depositions for two of his multiple charges the same day the grand jury decided to let him walk away a free man.

An emotional Watson expressed his gratitude in a press conference after the verdict saying, "I thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for letting the truth be heard. I thank everyone that was a part of this for seeing and hearing both sides."
