The "Modern Family" cast had a reunion, and Sofia Vergara shared numerous mementos from the big day with one notable face missing from the frames — Ty Burrell's.
The 51-year-old actress, known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the hit sitcom, took to social media to showcase pictures and videos from the cast's "first" reunion. While the update was more than heartwarming, many fans were sent into a tizzy when they realized that the much-loved Burrell, who portrayed the affable role of Phil Dunphy, was missing from the festivities.
Fans Are Worried About Ty Burrell's Absence From The 'Modern Family' Reunion
"Modern Family," which ran from 2009 to 2020, stood out as one of ABC's most beloved comedies with 11 seasons. The cast, delivering stellar performances as the Dunphy and Pritchett families, included Vergara, Burrell, Nolan Gould, Eric Stonestreet, Julie Bowen, Ariel Winter, Ed O'Neill, Rico Rodriguez, Sarah Hyland, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Thanks to finding their way into fans' hearts, it was jubilation galore when Vergara uploaded multiple pictures from their first official reunion as a group on social media. In the first image of a three-slide post, all cast members, including show co-creator Steve Levitan, put on their best smiles as they posed for the camera.
In the cast photo, Winter, who played Burrell's onscreen daughter, Alex Dunphy, is seen holding up a framed picture of him at the front of the group. She then reappeared in the next slide with her pretend big sister, Hyland [Hailey Dunphy], holding up their wine glasses from the top of a balcony.

The last snap in the post revealed Ferguson [Mitchell Pritchett], and Hyland throwing up the peace sign on a couch while Vergara rested on a fourth person, who was holding up a wine glass.
For her final share, Vergara shared a reel that kicked off with the camera focusing on the framed photo of Burrell sitting on a fireplace. She's also heard saying, "We miss you, Ty," alongside her other co-stars before the film moved to show Hyland and the rest of the crew.
Hyland yelled "I love you, dad," while her onscreen uncle, Stonestreet [Cameron Tucker], blew a chef's kiss at the camera. The actions of the cast immediately turned the comment section of the Instagram video upside down as fans assumed that the worst had happened to the lovable actor.
"Bruh, I thought Phil died. I almost had a mini heart attack," one fan wrote, as another admitted, "Had to google and check that Phil was still alive," and a third wondered, "Is it just me or my heart stopped one sec thinking Phil was dead?"
A fourth Instagram user commented, "I had to check Google to make sure he didn't die," while a fifth claimed, "This scared the s— out of me. I thought Ty Burrell died or something. Holy h— lol," and a sixth noted, "A cardboard cutout would've been soooo much better. You guys scared us all. Lol."
Seeing the fun side of the update, another internet citizen gushed, "I'M LIVING FOR THIS!! But why did you make it look like Tyler died?" Another fan observed, "The floral arrangement in the middle doesnt help either... and everyone was wearing black."

Similarly, this person pondered, "No but tell my why my favourite character is always missing," as another stated, "Typical Phil, making us think the worse. He should have been the robot iPad thing if he couldn't make it," and yet another joked, "They killed Phil."
Two Former Cast Members Reunited For A Special Event Earlier This Month
Aside from scaring their fans, "Modern Family" stars have made it a point to show up for one another whenever the need arises. One of the most recent proof of this, according to PEOPLE, came when Ferguson attended his on-screen daughter, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons' school production of "The Burn."
The doting cast member cemented the memories of the day by sharing three photos of the sweet reunion on Instagram. In the first slide, the 48-year-old placed his hand on Anderson-Emmons' shoulder and they both smiled at the camera.
What followed was a snap of the flier for the school production and a view of the 16-year-old on stage. Gushing about the teen's performance and reminiscing on their history, Ferguson penned in the caption:
"Got to see my talented pretend daughter @aubreyandersonemmons in her high school production of THE BURN. It's crazy to think Aubrey was just a few months older than Beckett when I met her! Look at her now!!! Congrats, Aubrey! You were SO great! Love you! You make a pretend papa proud."
Since going live on November 3, the post has earned more than 752k likes and nearly 1k comments. One of the comments even came from Anderson-Emmons, who played Lily Tucker-Pritchett. "Thank you so much for coming!!" she wrote to express her gratitude.
