Bindi And Robert Irwin Share Tributes To Late Father In Honor Of Steve Irwin Day

In honor of Steve Irwin Day, the "Crocodile Hunter" is being remembered by his family and fans around the world.

Steve's children, Bindi and Robert, have taken to social media to share tributes to their late father on the day designated for the "greatest wildlife warrior."

Celebrated on November 15 each year, Steve Irwin Day is a day to remember and honor the late "Crocodile Hunter." According to National Today, November 15 was chosen to be Steve Irwin Day because "it was the birthday of one of his favorite animals - Harriet, a big tortoise from the Galapagos Islands."

Robert, 19, shared a video tribute on Instagram for his dad captioned, "Today, November 15 is Steve Irwin Day. A day to remember our dad, the greatest Wildlife Warrior on the planet. He was one man who changed the world forever and continues to inspire the next generations."

In the video, Steve is seen doing what he loved best, wildlife conservation and education.

"What I, Steve Irwin, would want to be remembered for is to be remembered for passion and enthusiasm. Conservation is my job, my whole persona, my life revolves around that," Steve said in the video. "I get this overwhelming feeling that I'm sharing my wildlife encounters with you. What a beautiful thing. I never really thought that was gonna happen."

He continued to talk about why he loved what he was doing and said, "If I can't get animals into people's hearts, they'll be no conservation. They'll be absolutely no love for our wild animals and that would be devastating. Everything would just suffer and this would be a very ugly world."

The throwback video concluded with Steve reiterating, "By conserving wildlife, I'm helping humanity. That's what I'd like to be remembered for."

Within only minutes of sharing the tribute, Robert's post caught tons of attention with hundreds leaving comments about his late father.

"A commanding communicator whose spirit radiated beyond boundaries, borders, languages, and hemispheres… Generating a momentum that continues to positively impact the world today. Cheers to Steve Irwin!!" one person wrote.

Another added, "He's literally remembered for these exact things. A successful man."

Another Instagram user shared, "If Australia could be represented forever by one person, it should be him. The word “icon” doesn’t cover it. Still breaks my heart at his loss."

Bindi, 25, also took to Instagram to honor her father on Steve Irwin Day.

"November 15 • Steve Irwin Day. To the world, he will be remembered as the greatest Wildlife Warrior. To our family, he will be remembered as our world," her caption reads.

The comment section of her post also got tons of attention within minutes of her tribute photo being shared.

"He’d be so proud of what you and your family have become," one person wrote. Another added, "The world loved him and the world loves your beautiful family! Thank you for doing what you do every day. He is proud of you- absolutely no doubt about it."
