"Friends" star Matt LeBlanc is finally breaking his silence on the death of his co-star Matthew Perry, who tragically passed away last month.

LeBlanc took to social media to share a sweet message to his late friend, finally saying "goodbye" to his longtime co-star.

Matt LeBlanc, who portrayed Joe Tribbani on the hit sitcome alongside Perry, who played Chandler Bing, is now speaking out about his friend's passing.

"Matthew, It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye," LeBlanc began to say. "The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life."

He added, "It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never."

LeBlanc shared a series of photos to social media of him and Perry, adding,  "Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me."

Matt LeBlanc is the first of the main cast to break his silence individually on Perry's passing. The cast did release a joint statement shortly after they found out about their co-star's death,

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” their statement read. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”

The cast continued by stating, “In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”

As previously reported, police responded to a 911 call to assist with a possible ‘water rescue’ at Matthew Perry’s Pacific Palisades home. When the first responders arrived, they reportedly found the 54-year-old “Friends” actor in his hot tub, unresponsive.

He is believed to have drowned, but an autopsy and toxicology reports will be able to answer more questions about his true cause of death. Prescription anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications were reportedly found in Matthew Perry‘s home following his tragic death, although sources say that no illegal narcotics were discovered at the scene.

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer were all seen at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills neighborhood for Perry’s memorial one week after he was found in his hot tub, unresponsive.

Matthew Perry was best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the famous sitcom where he appeared alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow.

Throughout the years, the 54-year-old actor struggled with addiction, which he opened up about in his 2022 memoir.
