Zay Jones's arrest comes just days after another NFL wide receiver, Michael Thomas, was arrested for battery. According to police, the NFL star was arrested on misdemeanor charges of simple battery and criminal mischief around 7 p.m. Friday. Law enforcement says the NFL star was cooperative and booked without incident.

An altercation with a man who was doing construction work on a house being built near the Saints wide receiver’s home led to Thomas's arrest. Thomas reportedly yelled at the individual about parking his vehicle in front of his house. He then continued to threaten the man verbally.

The issue between Thomas and the construction worker has reportedly been an ongoing situation, as the NFL star had asked the man to stop parking in front of his house, verbally threatening to throw something at the cars if they were not moved.

In the man’s statement, he said that the wide receiver became more upset after he began recording Thomas during the incident, leading the NFL star to throw a brick at the man’s car windshield, which caused “little if any damage.” The man also alleges that Thomas shoved him and knocked the phone out of his hands.

Police then arrested Michael Thomas following the altercation. He was released around 10 p.m.
