Actor Adam Driver has earned a lot of love from fans as the villainous Kylo Ren and the redeemed Ben Solo in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy.

However, the actor's new role in "Ferrari" might prove to be just as controversial as the last three movies set in a galaxy far, far away, as he cursed out a critic of his new feature film during a recent question and answer session.

On Sunday, November 12, Adam Driver was answering questions about his new movie during a screening at Poland's Camerimage Film Festival.

"What do you think about [the] crash scenes? They looked pretty harsh, drastic, and, I must say, cheesy for me," one critic ventured, asking the "Hungry Hearts" actor, "What do you think?"

The 39-year-old actor responded, "F--- you. I don't know. Next question."

As The Blast previously reported, Adam Driver replaced "The Greatest Showman" actor Hugh Jackman in the titular role of Italian sports entrepreneur Enzo Ferrari in the biographical drama. The film also stars Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Patrick Dempsey, Jack O’Connell, Sarah Gadon, and Gabriel Leone.

The movie is set in 1957 and follows the story of Ferrari trying to navigate a complicated family life while entering his racing team in the iconic 1,000-mile race across Italy known as the Mille Miglia. During the race, driver Alfonso de Portago blew a tire on his Ferrari sports car and crashed into the crowd, killing nine individuals.

Although Enzo Ferrari and the tire manufacturer were charged with manslaughter, the case was later dismissed.

Although it looks like the "65" actor is driving cars throughout the film, Adam Driver admitted that he was not actually allowed to drive anything due to insurance reasons. At the 80th annual Venice Film Festival in August, Driver said, "They wouldn’t let me drive the cars for insurance reasons," as per Us Weekly. "As I said before, making a movie is a miracle and they don’t want me touching the thing that’s the most expensive part on the [set]."

The "House of Gucci" actor went on to explain that a dolly is actually behind the wheel at the beginning of the movie. "Again, they don’t trust me with small pieces of equipment." He went on to joke, "Big pieces of equipment, like sandwiches, they’ll let me handle."

The film is directed by Michael Mann, who is also the filmmaker behind movies such as "Heat" and "Miami Vice." Mann, 80, served as a consultant on "Ford vs. Ferrari" in 2019 and had been interested in making a film about Ferrari for years.

"Ferrari" is currently scheduled for release on December 25, 2023.

Although some celebrities cut out carbs in order to get in shape for roles, Adam Driver used to carry around an entire rotisserie chicken with him while attending school at Juilliard. In an episode of the "Film Reroll" podcast, as previously reported by The Blast, his former classmate, Scott Aiello, revealed that Driver’s peers used to see the actor walking around campus with a giant roast chicken in one hand.

Aiello claimed that the "Girls" star would "walk around school with an entire chicken in one hand and a jug of water in the other." The Oscar-nominated actor backed up that assertion himself in a 2014 interview with GQ. While attending school at Juilliard, the actor admitted that he used to run from his apartment in Queens to the school's campus in Manhattan in order to develop his fit physique. He also admitted to starting his day with six eggs before he would go to a grocery store and pick up a roast chicken to serve as his meal for the rest of the day!

Fortunately for fans, the actor has revealed that he no longer follows a strict diet to stay in shape, although the "Rotisserie Chicken Challenge" has been making the rounds on TikTok.
