Part of a woman's body was found in a dumpster in Tarzana, California, and Sam Haskell, the son of powerful celebrity agent, Sam Haskell Sr., has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to the discovery.

According to law enforcement, after searching for a San Fernando Valley woman and her parents, who have been missing and feared to be deceased, police found a partially dismembered woman's body they believe belonged to Haskell's wife or his mother-in-law.

In this ongoing investigation, three are feared dead -- Mei Haskell and her parents. Police have arrested the son of a hugely powerful agent in Hollywood after a woman’s remains were discovered around 6 a.m. Wednesday after a homeless person was going through trash bins the parking lot of a commercial building.

Those who are missing were identified as:

  • Mei Haskell, the wife of Sam Haskell
  • Gaoshan Li, age 72, male. 5-foot-6-inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds.
  • YanXiang Wang, age 64, female. 5-foot-4-inches tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds.

At this time, the deceased has not been identified, per law enforcement.

Mei Haskell is married to Sam Haskell, whose dad, Sam Haskell Sr., is a powerful celebrity agent who represented celebrities like George Clooney, Martin Short, Dolly Parton, Kirstie Alley, Tony Danza, Whoopi Goldberg, Prince Edward, Kathie Lee Gifford, Ray Romano, and Debbie Allen.

He is now retired.

NBC Los Angeles is reporting detectives are still searching for San Fernando Valley resident, Mei Haskell, and her parents after discovering a partially dismembered woman's body in a trash bag in a bin in Encino. This then led to the discovery of a man in Tarzana, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

“When the officers responded they discovered a dismembered female wrapped in a plastic bag. It was just outside the dumpster, they confirmed that it was human remains,” LAPD Detective Efren Gutierrez said. He later specified that a torso was discovered in the garbage bag.

At this point, the L. A County Coroner's Office is tasked with determining the identity of the female victim. Officers are searching for the other missing family members.

LAPD officers searched a home, which neighbors said a man, a woman, and their three children, seemingly belonging to Haskell and his family. Police closed off a section of the area in Tarzana to collect evidence.

"Multiple law enforcement sources told NBC4’s I-Team they believe the woman whose remains were found in Encino had been murdered inside the Tarzana home," their report stated.

Investigators reported found blood evidence in the home.

35-year-old Sam Haskell was booked on suspicion of murder. He was arrested Wednesday at a mall in Topanga. The three young children who live in the home were found safe. They are currently under the custody of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
