'Fixer Upper' Star Joanna Gaines Avoids Getting Deposed in Furniture Lawsuit as It Finally Settles

Joanna Gaines has gotten her wish — she won't have to sit for a deposition in an ongoing furniture lawsuit she was involved in because the two sides have finally reached a settlement.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Standard Furniture Manufacturing Company and LF Products say were able to reach a full and complete settlement on all matters. The court docs state both parties are dismissing all claims against the other and the case will be officially closed.

As The Blast first reported, the “Fixer Upper” star was dragged into a legal battle – where she is not a plaintiff or defendant – involving a line of furniture that was to be sold under Joanna and her husband Chip’s furniture line, Magnolia Home.

Standard Furniture and LF Products were battling it out over a disagreement over the quality of the raw material that was used on the furniture made for the line. Joanna Gaines is alleged to be the one who discovered the furniture was made with a different type of material than what was agreed upon.

Gaines went to court objecting to a subpoena she was served with by LF Products, who were seeking to depose the reality star in the lawsuit.

She refused, calling the request burdensome and unnecessary since she wasn’t a party to the lawsuit. Gaines even complained LF Products were not offering to pay her a reasonable fee for her services in testifying.

In the end, Gaines ended up not having to ever give testimony.
