DMX better brush up on his Netflix, because he wants to spend his time behind bars in one of the most famous prisons in pop-culture.
X's attorney tells The Blast they have applied for the rapper to go to FCI Danbury in Connecticut to serve time for his 1 year sentence on a charge of tax evasion.
FCI Danbury used to be a women's facility, and has housed some pretty famous inmates over the years, including Leona Helmsley, Lauryn Hill and "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice.
Piper Kerman, who was featured as the main character in "Orange is the New Black" also served her prison time at Danbury. The prison name was changed to Litchfield Penitentiary for the Netflix show.
The prison was converted to a women's facility in 1993 and then went back to all-male in 2013. A brand new women's facility was opened in 2016.
We're told X is focused on Danbury because they have a great program to "help treat his addiction," and it's also close to his home.
DMX's attorney is confident the hip-hop star should be out of the penn within 6 months because his time already served counts towards the sentence. He says X and his entire legal team were both "very pleased and happy" with the sentencing because they believe the judge sees that he is a good person at heart and has just made mistakes.
As we reported, X was also given 3 years of supervised release and ordered to pay $2,292,200 in restitution.
